All-Star Weekend has become much more than the basketball game it surrounds, with brands the world over competing in their own sneaker-replete metagame. This year, it seems Nike is coming out on top, offering both collaborations and on-theme collections. Alongside the Dunk High, Foamposite One, and the like, it looks like the brand will also debut a brand new silhouette: the Distorted DNA.
True to its namesake, the model appears like nothing seen before. The puffed, bulbous tooling dresses underfoot with etched-in linework, a light, seemingly glow-in-the-dark tread, and an extremely pronounced silver metallic heel support. Above, the design is a bit more straightforward, bearing thick mesh constructions at the toe, ripstop at the tongue, and more robust leathers at the counter as well as the lace unit. Toggles, then, add convenience just adjacent, while the underlying frame cushions in its mint green coloring.
Furnished with All-Star logos and miniature checks, the new D/MS/X offering is set to release on March 9th.
In other news, the Jordan 1 University Blue releases this Saturday.
