Jovani Hernandez NIKE, Inc. garnered a lot of attention last week by unveiling its roster of Air Jordan retros for the summer. While not as hype, an upcoming collection of Nike Sportswear models donning multi-color accents and hand-drawn illustrations suggests the North American brand has plenty more in store for the warmer months.
Already including the Nike Air More Uptempo, the aforementioned series now includes the women’s-exclusive Air Force 1 Shadow. Akin to the Scottie Pippen-associated silhouette. the newly-surfaced pair features a white-colored base that allows for hits of pink, yellow and green to revel in the spotlight. The women’s take on Bruce Kilgore’s iconic Air Force 1, however, favors a softer palette of colors, with pastel tones dominating heel areas and underlays throughout the upper. “Do-it-yourself”-like finishes are found at the midsole’s stacked portion, while sock-liners feature a number of graffiti-like illustrations that also make their way onto the top of the tongue, profile swooshes and lace dubraes. Underfoot, the reimagined made-for-basketball tread opts for a predominantly “colorless” arrangement, though its border dons two shades of pink found up top.
