Bruce Kilgore helped create sneaker culture when he designed the Nike Air Force 1 in 1982 (the Low arrived in ’83). Over the past 40 years, the made-for-basketball design has offered something for everyone, with the latest proposition arriving in the form of a premium, “Metallic Silver”-accented ensemble.
High-quality “White” leather unequivocally nods to the original version of Kilgore’s sneaker, especially when paired with the shimmering profile swooshes. Other details reserved for “Premium” iterations of the Air Force 1 family reprise their roles, with square lace dubraes joining the ensemble. Perhaps an experimental take on the fan-favorite light gum brown sole unit, the midsole and outsole combination don a semi-translucent, smokey “Coconut Milk” finish that reveals non-standard branding underfoot.
No firm Nike.com release details have been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change as summer gets going. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
