There’s no denying that the adidas adiFOM Q bears resemblance to the Yeezy Foam Runner, but the Three Stripes’ solo effort is on a mission to gain its own identity. Recently, the silhouette emerged in a clean “Footwear White” and “Grey One” colorway.
The newer model, which serves as an update to 2001’s adidas Quake design, features a foam-based outer construction laden with perforations and contour lines. Its “colorless” arrangement delivers a clean aesthetic akin to the aforementioned Yeezys’ original “Ararat” style. Yet, the adiFOM Q is closer to a traditional shoe than Ye’s offering, and the dozens of other EVA foam-based silhouettes on the market, than to a clog: shoe laces and a removable inner-bootie provide familiar functionality to the sneaker. As has been the case with the silhouette’s first two drops, the latest option boasts a contrasting hue on the sock-like inner component, which can be mixed and matched with other adiFOM Q inserts. The “Grey One” bootie offers a comfortable ride and protection, allowing wearers to worry less about taking the shoes outside.
