Team USA’s epic triumph at the Olympic Games in Paris has yielded an uptick in eventful sneakers for the team’s prominent athletes. We saw LeBron James sport an all-gold LeBron 22 during the game, while Steph Curry just launched his twelfth signature shoe — the same pair he hit that barrage of threes in the final moments of the Gold Medal Game. Skechers Basketball athlete Joel Embiid is getting in on the fun as well, as he was just gifted a special golden pairs of shoes in commemoration of his biggest competitive triumph yet.
Embiid was presented with a unique pair of the Skechers SKX Float, the silhouette he’s been primarily wearing throughout last season and the Olympic Games. This all-gold version sees alternating color-blocking of gold and black on the left and right shoes, with his “Trust The Process” mantra echoed on the writings on the upper. Joel Embiid’s name is emblazoned PE style on the heel.
The Skechers Basketball Instagram also posted a video of Embiid receiving the shoes in a golden box as well.
The brand has been busy this summer as well, recently unveiling a special mural featuring Julius Randle and Terance Mann at the Tenement courts in the Philippines.
