Kanye quotables are nothing new, but they definitely are for the folks over at adidas. Since dropping the adidas Yeezy Boost, Kanye discussed the shoe’s functionality in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God and Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club and what he said definitely surprised most listeners. The gist of which was as follows – his first collaboration with adidas was a better silhouette to hoop in than any of his previous Nike designs. That’s high praise given that the outsole of his first shoe was that of the Air Jordan 3, and even the Air Tech Challenge II base on his second was rooted in court performance. It was more of a statement to back his current brand and take a shot at his former than anything else, but Kanye may not have been too far off in saying you can actually play basketball in his latest creation based on what we’re seeing here – adidas Basketball’s latest design in the adidas Tubular BBall Primeknit. The outsole will bring back memories of the Yeezy Boost with a bold tubular design while the Primeknit constructed upper adds a lifestyle twist with a neoprene sock fit. The jury is still out on whether the performance of this model will be up to par, but the striking resemblance to the adidas Yeezy will be a nice consolation prize for most that missed out on the Kanye-helmed pair.
