Germany’s own Solebox has been one of the most respected sneaker boutiques overseas for quite some time, which makes their foray into the reselling market with their latest Solemart consignment shop not at all surprising. Consignment shops have been a secondary avenue to grab rare finds for a minute in the Western world, but thanks to the folks over at Solebox, the sneaker community continues to grow overseas. Having opened its doors over a decade ago, now marks the perfect time for the German retailer to expand its territory in its home country. Sneaker Freaker sat down with the shop’s owner, Hikmet Sugoer, to talk about the boutique’s progression over the past decade and how he came to open up a consignment shop. While Hikmet finds that this is a sad progression, noting that brands are cutting out middle-man retailers as they focus on doing business through their own channnels, he inevitably notes that having a physical space to sell sneakers is the lesser evil in a reseller-happy market.
