In 2003, Nike held an exhibition in the 255 Elizabeth Street Gallery in NYC to announce the use of lasered art onto Nike sneakers. The exhibition showed off a number of uses including on sneakers, bags and even leather art. The sneakers ranged from Air Force 1, Dunk, Cortez and even a pair of Air Jordan III with lasered art work made for Michael Jordan. Nike credits Mark Smith with this innovation of lasered art work onto sneakers.
