We recently showed you two Ato Matsumoto sneakers in new colorways that were announced as part of the brand’s Spring/Summer collection. Another pair of the cow hide high-top sneakers has just surfaced as a collaborations between Ato Matsumoto and Japanese label Roc Star. The shoe as a whole looks like a throwback to the popular designs of the late ’80s and early ’90s with a modern twist of patent leather all around the upper. Colors are kept simple and flashy with a mostly black scheme along with pink thrown in on the out-sole and the upper. Pink is used as a solid color and speckled design on the two straps and tongue while the rest of the upper rocks some dope, black, patent leather. These are due to hit the Phenomenon Harajuku in the very near future for a price tag of 30,450yen or $337.00USD. via Hypebeast

The fading reminds one of one of the Air Tech Challenge IIs. I like the red/blue/yellow joints better, and just wish they’d eschew the ‘a’. It’s not like anyone else really has kicks like this out on the market anyway … why make the only entry unnecessarily ugly?

Of all the hi-top strap kicks the Ato’s are probably my favorite. Print looks very similar to the lava print from the agassi’s. I like how they did the outsole with that lava pink as well. Looks like they got wise before nike. I was hoping to see that print on more kicks. We’ll just have to wait and see

The basic silhouette of this shoe looks like a Jordan 1 or Dunk, just with the added straps and odd tongue. They’re not too bad.
