2010 marks the 19th annual FIFA World Cup. PUMA brand has had a long standing history with the sport of football (soccer). In fact, Pelé, arguably the greatest football athlete of all time, wore Pumas to victory during the 1970 FIFA World Cup.
PUMA brings forth a collection of Clydes that undergo an African theme, which is most likely concurrent with South Africa being the next host nation to the FIFA tournament. The uppers feature distressed suede and a kente pattern, cloth native to African fabrication, along the lace eyelets. The overall design is nicely set off by contrast stitching along the formstrip. A limited edition release part of the Fall 2009 collection, these are now available at Mita Sneakers.
