It has been reported that John Wall has signed an endorsement contract with Reebok for a sum of $25 million. A University of Kentucky product and projected number-one overall draft pick come 2010 NBA Draft time, John Wall turned down offers from both Nike and Under Armour and accepted a more lucrative offer from the brand that has been relatively dormant for some time. With its re-emergence and regained relevance in footwear – thanks to the Reebok Zig Tech and the 20th Anniversary of Reebok Pump – the brand is looking to regain its prominence from the 90’s Pump era and impressive endorsement roster from a decade ago (Allen Iverson, Steve Francis, Baron Davis) and adding a budding star in John Wall is a step in the right direction. At first, Wall’s decision may seem to have been a financial one, but Reebok might be the best destination for someone who is looking for some time in the spotlight. Is a signature shoe already in the works? The answer is “Yes”: the contract already guarantees two signature shoes for Wall. This is truly an exciting development for Reebok so stick with Sneaker News for more info.
