The bar keeps rising on sneaker-inspired cake quality, and here’s the first one to feature a shoe that originally released right around the same time as the party. This Nike LeBron VIII ‘South Beach’ cake nails the art deco-derived colorway on the upper and laces, but uses a yellow sole to simulate the 360-degree Max Air cushion you’ll find on the real LeBron 8. It’s also one of the few sneaker cakes we’ve seen with the actual inspiration side by side, so you can take a look at the cake creation compared to the original. Here’s hoping for more sneaker cakes and who knows what other innovations will come out the oven; you can see more shots by clicking the jump below to see the whole spread. Big thanks to Jeffrey Castillo for the pics! And if you missed out on the real thing, get a pair of South Beach/Pre-Heat LeBron 8’s now on eBay.
