While a good portion of Jordan collectors weren’t old enough or weren’t born yet, others remember Michael lacing up a special pair of Air Jordan VII’s for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. The Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’ would become a classic as it represented the “Dream Team” and their dominance of global basketball. They retroed in 2004 and once again under the ‘FTLOTG’ tag in 2010 but you can now own an original pair from 1992. Nearly as much as their lyrical content will consist of the themes that have dominated rap over the last decade or so, we’ve come to expect being impressed by Maybach Music Group‘s sneaker choices.  The latest example comes in the form of images snapped of Wale and J.Cole’s recent shoot for the ‘Bad Girls Club’ video, where these two rappers were spotted rocking the Air Jordan II from the ‘Candy Pack’ and Air Jordan VII ‘Bin 23′, respectively.  Furthering the heat quotient was MMG founder Rick Ross, who has probably earned himself a few new haters courtesy of his AJ5 ‘Quai 54′ that we just learned will not make retail in the States.  Click through for a closer look and stick with Sneaker News for more celebrity sneaker sightings.  via YBF

The final season of HBO’s Entourage is scheduled to hit airwaves in a few weeks and while most people are anticipating the season premiere others are buzzing about the Entourage x Nike SB collaboration. A pair recently popped up on eBay and according to the seller, these were made for friends and family only and limited to 50 pairs, much like the recent F&F Air Jordan V ‘Quai 54′ Black. While that’s not confirmed yet, this is a good look into whether or not they will hit retail in the near future. Another week, another selection of great sneakers to choose from. This week saw the release of the adidas Skate June 2011 collection at adidas Skateboarding retailers nationwide. Nike’s latest foray with their patented Hyperfuse technology dropped in the Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse, Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 and Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Low. There was a lot of variety this week as we also got the Jordan Trunner LX 11 and Supra Indy Pack. The upcoming Air Jordan XIV ‘Light Graphite’ isn’t the first time that Jordan Brand has experimented with this color on this model. Back in 2005, the Air Jordan XIV Light Graphite/Chartreuse colorway used a similar color scheme and were an instant hit due to its refreshing take on an older model. Grey has proved to be a very popular color regardless of the shoe its used on and have experienced success across the board. Will this Air Jordan XIV share that success? We’ll have to wait and see. Last year we saw the release of the Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Five Boroughs’ Pack, a set of New York flavored sneaks dedicated to the urban landscape of the Big Apple. Here we have an Air Force 1 High that seems to pay homage to NYC in a subtler way, with a Yankees like colorway of Obsidian/Grey/White. The perforated leather that hits on the heel area of this Air Force 1 High, mixed with the clean white of the swoosh and outsole, certainly gives them the same feel as the ubiquitous Yankee hats that Jay-Z claims to have made more famous than a Yankee can. Throughout the Distinct Life x New Balance 30 for 30 project, Rick Williams showed us his arsenal of NB’s, rocking a different New Balance shoe for every day in the month of June. We knew the Burn Rubber x New Balance MT580 would show up in there somewhere since Rick is the co-owner of that fine Detroit establishment, but he threw us for a loop on Day 30, rocking the next collaboration between Burn Rubber and New Balance, slated for a 2012 release. He’s keeping them fairly secretive, as you can see from the “censored” view above, but there’s no doubt these are gonna be hot.
