Nike LeBron Ambassador III Flywire Samples

The fourth installment in LeBron James’ Ambassador series is set to release this holiday season as the first to integrate Nike’s Flywire technology into the uppers.  But it’s clear from these new images that wasn’t always going to be the case, as it’s very possible the Nike LeBron Ambassador III could have claimed that title, these samples from last year’s model showing how an alternate design had their eyelet wings crafted from Flywire-embedded TPU.  It gives them a slightly more technical feel compared to the released model whose intricate pattern was more for style than function.  Click through for closeups of two pairs, let us know how these compare to the ‘real’ Ambassador 3s and stick with Sneaker News for more rare finds.  via hkkicks

Supra Taupe Pack

Another day, another ‘color’ pack from Supra.  The crown brand started this trend when a series of holiday-themed releases led to the equally well-timed ‘Black & Yellow’ collection in honor of the Boston Bruins’ Stanley Cup victory.  That pack begat the ‘Black & Green’ joints we most recently showed you, and now three other models are united by a single colorway.  The Supra Taupe Pack applies its namesake shade to the suede uppers of the Supra Skylow, Society Mid and Cuban, each of which adds an aqua terrycloth lining and white vulcanized sole.  Click through to see all three pairs in more detail and look for these at select Supra stockists including their e-store.

Nike Air Griffey Max II White Photo Blue Black

Various eye-catching aquatic shades have been central to the Ken Griffey’s Nike Training signature series since its inception with the Air Diamond Fury in 1995, this latest release among the purest blues from that category.  The Nike Air Griffey Max II doesn’t match any of Junior’s MLB uniforms, but its mix of white leather with black and Photo Blue accents makes for a great summertime sneaker and one of the best white releases in the entire Nike Griffey lineage.  Click through to see more angles and look for these now at NSW retailers like CitySole or get your pair on eBay.

Nike SB Dunk Mid Pro White Sport Red Black

We’re just about ready for another flip of the calendar, which means a brand new shipment of Nike SB sneakers is starting to hit select retailers around the world.  Key among these is the second standout red and white Nike SB Dunk Mid released this year, though they’re about as dissimilar from the first as you could get within those bounds.  Whereas the earlier pair featured Brickhouse suede with a white leather Swoosh, these are basically the complete opposite plus some black accents that give these a classic ’80s basketball feel.  They’re also like a simplified take on last year’s ‘Ryu’ Mids or perhaps Todd Bratrud’s ‘Cheech & Chong’ Dunk SB design, so if you’re missed out on either of those and/or find yourself looking for a no-nonsense skate shoe with perfect summer style, grab a pair today from SB stores like MIA.

Air Jordan XI Retro Space Jam 2009 Re Release @ RMK

Wait a second!  Wasn’t the big Retro release for 2011 supposed to be the OG ‘Concord’ colorway from 1995?!  For those of you who have your heart set on the original Elevens, this news has no bearing on what should figure to be Holiday 11′s single biggest release, though it is directly connected to the shoe that took that title two years ago.  The Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ was such a massive hit that they beat out Kanye West’s first Air Yeezys to top our Sneaker News Top 30 of 2009 and now they’re in even rarefied-er air now, thanks to a series of deadstock pairs soon to arrive at Asian retailer RMKstore.  It’s pretty uncommon to see such a treasure trove available from a retailer so long after the original (instant sell-out) release, and although their site has no indication of price or quantities yet, you can inquire with them here regarding info and placing a reservation. If you’re still looking for a pair and dont want to go the overseas route, you can check to see what the market says they’re worth and grab a pair on eBay.

Nike LeBron Air Max Soldier V Think Pink

The Nike Soldier series has taken a backseat to various iterations of the Nike LeBron signature line in recent years and is no longer King James’ go-to shoe come playoff time.  But with this new Nike LeBron Air Max Soldier 5 colorway, we get a look at one way the series will continue to battle with a model that both fights breast cancer and will likely appear on a WNBA court near you soon.  The ‘Think Pink’ Soldier V is the latest Kay Yow Fund-benefiting release from Nike Basketball; how do they compare to all the others we’ve seen these past few years?  Click through for a closer look, let us know what you think and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Nike LeBron release dates.  via edtrigger

Nike Sportswear Ice Cream Truck Summer Menu

Few sounds can make an adult instantly snap back into a playfully childish state of mind like the jingling and jangling of an ice cream truck during the dog days of summer.  New Yorkers are particularly lucky in this regard, with a variety of trucks roaming the Big Apple’s bustling avenues, and one in particular that’ll have sneakerheads sprinting down the street.  Nike Sportswear’s ‘Always On’ Ice Cream Truck is set to serve up the goods including a Hyperstrike-sized 24 pair release on the Nike Air Force 1 High Hyperfuse in Volt, with the Blue Glow edition to follow soon after.  They’ll also have a bunch of new Uptowns, the Pine Green Air Foamposite Pro and a variety of attire, so click through to see a preview and follow NSW on Twitter and Facebook for updates on the truck’s whereabouts.  via GameSeven

UPDATE:
The Nike Sportswear truck will be at Dyckman Court in NYC today at 4pm. Follow the NSW Twitter for more updates.

Supra Black and Green Pack

Supra has seized the day with a number of timely releases of late, namely their Flag Day, Puerto Rican Day and Independence Day releases adding red, white and blue flare to the Crown brand’s distinct skate style.  They also issued a ‘Black and Yellow’ pack in honor of the Boston Bruins bringing down the city of Vancouver Canucks, but that’s about as close as this latest trio gets to a true theme.  The Supra Black and Green Pack brings Tom Penny’s Bandit and adds Antwuan Dixon’s signature model back along with Erik Ellington’s Avenger in a trio of black canvas/teal cupsole releases you can currently find at select Supra stockists worldwide.

Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Low Volt Black

A number of Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Lows have hit Nike Basketball retailers, this latest model perhaps the most ostentatious so far.  These new Hyperfuse 2011 Lows take the neon accents from their place on the Photo Blue joints we showed you last week and makes the entire upper out of Volt, along with black insets.  This high contrast look is as refreshing as a cool glass of lemonade on a hot summer afternoon, and you can quench your thirst for unbeatable basketball performance this summer when you grab a pair from FinishLine.

Nike SB P Rod V New Images

We’ve compared Paul Rodriguez Jr. to fellow LA sports star Kobe Bryant and even loosely to His Airness, Michael Jordan, but would you believe he might be even more similar to the Mozilla Firefox web browser?  Both saw their early work take flight in the ’00s, this decade bringing faster development cycles and a fifth edition sure to warrant a huge number of upgrades this summer.  But instead of spinning while you wait for that eBay auction you’ve been watching to refresh, the Nike SB P-Rod V is made with LunarLon soles to provide one of the lightest and most comfortable rides in the history of skateboarding sneakers.  Click through to see more of this chocolate brown suede P-Rod 5 and stick with Sneaker News for more previews and release dates.

Nike Blazer Mid AB VNTG | New Images

The Nike Blazer Mid AB is a remixed version of a beloved retro model; Nike Sportswear taking some liberties with minimal updates to give the Blazer a bit more contemporary style. The first thing you notice is the absence of a swoosh, which makes sense as the Blazer silhouette can stand on its own at this point. Beyond that is the revamped toe, which features the rubber cap of the Nike All Court, another blast from the past model that has been getting some retro love as of late. And of course, the most striking of the changes, the added zipper as an alternate way to suit up in these. We’ve got some new photos of the VNTG after the jump, so let us know if you approve and head to Crooked Tongues to grab a pair now or get yours on eBay.

Converse Startech LE New Images

We’re back again with new a set of images on the upcoming Converse Startech LE, an old school basketball shoe that is being revived this summer courtesy of Converse. This up close look reveals a varied material selection and somewhat updated innards for this long lost basketball shoe. The upper is a nylon construction sitting on top of a clean white vulcanized sole. The unique split tongue at the top gives way to a super soft cotton lining, increasing the hieghtened level of comfort already provided by the EVA cupsole, a new feature for the Startech LE. Hit the jump to get a full look at these, which are impacting now at select Converse retailers. via HS
