Erik Ellington is best known as one of Supra’s founding riders, and along with guys like Chad Muska and Jim Greco, he’ll go down in history next to names like Jon Buscemi and Nigo for recognizing a certain aspect of footwear evolution. EE made waves with the extent to which his earlier Avenger lowtop borrowed from the Air Jordan IV, and that practice of seeing modern classics as foundational to the new school of sneaker design is again apparent in the new Supra Ellington. The Ellington reads something like an Avenger 1.5, but eschews visible cushioning a la Tinker Hatfield, instead opting for the concealed SUPRAFOAM we’ve come to expect from the Crown brand. A Chicago-style colorup offers a tribute to the most influential man and signature sneaker series in history while a black/neon design keeps with one of today’s hottest trends, and you’ll find both available now straight from Supra.
