Bobbito Garcia’s is one of those names that rings out as one of the earliest influencers in the broad spectrum of sneaker culture, the renaissance man being one of the first to really start shedding light on the subculture to the world at large whether it be through his It’s The Shoes program on ESPN or his book Where’d You Get Those?: New York City’s Sneaker Culture 1960-1987. In this short clip Bobbito imparts a bit of the wisdom he’s gained from his various consulting and collaboration gigs as part of a feature for Sneakerology Studio, an online class intended to bring young designers up to speed on the industry.
