It has ascended to the pantheon of all-time great skate sneakers over the past twenty (-plus) years, to the extent that we think of Steve Caballero’s Off the Wall signature and its more popular midtop variation as similarly iconic to, instead of built off of the success of the Air Jordan 1/Dunk style.  Vans has largely relied on styles other than this classic box-toed construction over the years, so this new model with this key feature fills a gap even as we wonder how we’ve come so far without it.  The Vans OTW Cypress is back in a couple of new colorways for the holiday season, including one in blacked out leather/reptile and another dubbed ‘Mountain’ (presumably for its trail-ish build, not in reference to the Nike SB rider for whom Vans’ iconic forefoot-strapped midtop is named) whose palette leans toward the Nike Vintage Box look, especially with the context above.  They’re available now at select OTW retailers and you can see both pairs after the jump below.
