1976 produced some notable (if underrated, by today’s standards) running shoes. Nike’s LD, the adidas Montreal and New Balance 320 stand out as highlights from that bicentennial year, but no model better captures the spirit of ’76 quite like the Nike Waffle Racer. Today, nearly forty years after the debut, we see the Waffle Racer VNTG take on one colorway each from classic and contemporary styles. Both are timeless two-toned styles, but the grey/black edition appears as though it could have indeed been a first run release, while the Sport Turquoise edition is a distinctly modern phenomenon. Click through so you can see which you like better, then be sure to check back with Sneaker News for US release info on these summer 2013 drops.
