nba 1946 sneaker 04 570x425 NBA Celebrates 68th Anniversary With A Limited Edition Sneaker

The NBA is making its own sneaker. No it’s not a collaboration with any of the big brands, it’s a completely new model that wears only the logo of the league. The sneakers of course sport no clear team affiliation, and instead have a red/white/blue colorway to match up with the tones found on their instantly recognizable emblem. Not too much release info is available, but we do know that they’ll come in the deluxe gold package pictured below, and just 1946 pairs will be released on their June 6th date in reference to the year that the league began. Get the rest of the photos below and tell us in the comments how you feel about the NBA sneaker.

Back in the '70s and early '80s the NBA and the owners of Kinney's shoes had a licensing agreement. This was way before we all became such label whores. I'm guessing this shoe is a creation of adidas corp., the owners of Reebok (the shoes look like one of the Iverson models). Nothing wrong with the shoe from what I can see, sort of like the deal from back in the day. If its purely about function, they may be fine. I personally could do without the stars around the top!

This shoe is more of a collector's item than anything. They'd probably been better off offering this shoe as complimentary gift to new Sports Illustrated subscribers.

These look like some knock off Allen Iverson kicks! #FACT.... Folks wear NBA logo socks, why not the shoe?

I swear these aren't even bad, pretty nice looking shoe if it was in a different colorway they would be even nicer. Of course if they had a Jordan or Nike logo... You know the rest

I guess I'm the only one who thinks they're cool but if there's only 1946 of them they'll be hella expensive and resell will be atrocious

not at all... i think they are FIRE! U cant listen to comments on SN... they do this with every shoe... resellers with fake accounts posting to drive people away from shoes so they can sneak more pairs

Wow u have quite the imagination if I were a reseller I would b on a fake page making people want to buy the shoe that way I could charge more. I'm sure resellers don't have a problem obtaining shoes.
