Believe It Or Not, There Are No Major Nike Or Jordan Releases This Weekend

No Jordan Nike Releases April 23

It looks like everyone’s bank accounts will be getting a break this weekend, as there are somehow no major Nike or Jordan Brand releases this Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. This anomaly of the sneaker release date schedule hasn’t happened for as long as we can remember, and has us wondering how it can even occur with the usually heavy slate of sneakers from Jordan and Nike each weekend. A Saturday without a Jordan retro? What gives?

With the brands beginning to release more sneakers during weekdays as well as online only, thinner weekend drops could be a growing trend. Jordan Brand in particular has been going heavy with Jordan Retros almost every single weekend and on some Saturdays, it just seems puzzling that so many great (and expensive) shoes are released alongside one another. That in turn creates an abundance of models left siting on the shelves.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything new this week at all. NYC 10s will hit in the middle of next week, while a number of collaborations, anticipated retro releases, and even a LeBron 13 became available throughout the week. Would you like to see Nike and Jordan thin out their releases, leaving a few weekends open like this one, or would you prefer the brand to evenly distribute them? Share your thoughts and let us know if you’re in favor of  fewer weekend sneaker drops in the comments below.
