If you’re in NYC at the moment, you’ve hopefully had a chance to check out the Nike Court NYC setup situated just above Canal street. In addition to being open to the public, the space has also hosted some marquee tennis names over the past couple of days – Serena Williams, Andre Agassi, Victoria Azarenka and Grigor Dimitrov all showed up at one point or another to get some playing time in (Agassi even took the time to autograph a fan’s pair of the Nike Air Tech Challenge II “US Open”). There are still more colorways popping up in 2014 for the original adidas Mutombo silhouette. This time around the shoe reverts to a simpler set of colors – although the pair in question does get a bit busy with the graphics as far as the top parts of the build are concerned. Other than that, it’s an all black and white affair that looks a bit shinier than usual with that leather strip up front. The good news is that you won’t have to worry about a teaser image and other advanced photos leading up to their release – the shoes are available now. The DC/Maryland/Virginia crowd has always been a big one, so you can anticipate this show to be full up with folks looking to buy, sell, and trade their sneakers. Do you remember when we previewed this adidas Crazy 2 pair last month? As it turns out, the sneaker actually has a theme to it – they are a Statue of Liberty tribute. Exactly what the adidas KB II has to do with that monument is beyond us, but if you take a look at the special tag planted on the inside of the tongue, which can be seen below, you’ll see reference to “The New Colossus”, which is the name of the Emma Lazarus poem originally placed on the lower level of the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty.
