Once just a pack of three among a more experimental Blazer lineup, the Vintage edition has now emerged as the backbone of Nike Sportswear’s oldest regular release. The Nike Blazer Mid 77 VNTG puts its own stamp on the familiar yellow-soled motif, opting for the less common leather upper, the novel addition of suede on the 77′s distinctive toe, and of course, the tonally rich snakeskin Swooshes that tie in with the upcoming Chinese New Year transition. Look for these at select Nike Sportswear retailers next month and let us know which is your favorite after examining them all individually below.

Its established VNTG variation experimenting with a bunch of new configurations in the coming months, the Nike Sportswear’s Blazer tries on a different kind of vintage treatment. Gone are the pre-yellowing, woodgrain sidewalls and much of the stitching, and in comes a new ribbed sole on this Swooshless Nike Blazer Mid Deconstructed Premium. Coming up first in Gym Red or Cool Grey suedes, these are reminiscent of John Varvatos’ Converse Pro Leather collabos, so let us know where they rank against some of the other notably grungy styles we’ve seen of late and stick with Sneaker News for US release info.

The lower and lighter compliment to the Highs we showed you earlier, this new Nike Blazer Low VNTG NRG combines Filbert and Henna leathers for a look somewhere between a classic two-toned look like a saddle shoe, and the vulc-soled basketball classic we’ve come to know and love. These underline the sense that they’re a special composition with red diamond tongue tags the likes of which we’ve not seen before that appear without further explanation, and they’re one of the reasons you can’t miss Nike Sportswear’s Friday, December 14th drops. Have a closer look below so you can let us know how these Lows compare to their hightop counterpart and grab one or both of them early Friday at SNS.

If you’re looking for a hidden jewel this holiday season, this ain’t it. But it will be a happy occasion if you give (to yourself, even) the gift of this new ‘Leather Pack’ Nike Blazer duo from the Swoosh Sportswear division. Each offering its own take on monochromatic brown with a variety of leather textures, these earthy mixes have a crisp edge thanks to Sail laces, soles and Swooshes, but the key branding element on these is the red diamond that takes the place of the traditional fold-over tongue tag. The taller and darker of the two Quickstrikes mixes Light British Tan and Dark Field Brown, and you can see a bunch of new photos from a variety of angles before this Friday’s drop at SNS.

The upcoming Year of the Snake figures to play a major thematic role in not just Kobe Bryant’s latest signature release, but also the original Nike Basketball model from four decades ago. Pictured above in a form drawn from its look at the end of the Seventies, the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Premium Vintage is coming up for the first quarter of 2013 with a variety of snake-Swooshed styles including this Sail pair featuring Game Royal branding and plenty of VNTG character. They’re on tap for a January release and will be accompanied by other snakeskin pairs plus more multicolored prints, so have a closer look below so you can decide which of the SP13 Blazers came out best.

It’s kind of a funny idea to think about something ‘vintage’ not yet arriving on store shelves. And yet, that’s exactly what makes this latest Nike Blazer Mid Premium VNTG release so appealing, its fresh take on an iconic style made all the more impactful by a brand new Hyper Red shade with intensity the likes of which wasn’t very common back in the 1970s. Furthering this curiosity is the fact that this new red is a novel revelation for the first quarter of 2013, but you can see how it mingles with Sport Grey accents and a gum outsole in more photos after the jump below.

Nike Sportswear’s Vintage Blazer lineup continues to expand its horizons as we see both heights done up with plenty of novel touches. The Nike Blazer High VNTG NRG and its lowtop counterpart both appear here today in a mixture of brown leathers: Light British Tan/Dark Field Brown for the former and Filbert/Henna for the latter. They’ve both got a unique red diamond inset on the tongue in lieu of the traditional woven tag, and convey their vintage charm by way of rough, almost hairy eyestays instead of the typical pre-yellowed soles. Have a closer look below, let us know what you think about NSW refreshing its VNTG catalog and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability.
