It was another glorious year for the UCONN basketball program, as both the men’s and the women’s teams won their respective National Championships this year. A portion of that success can be ascribed to women’s Coach Geno Auriemma, who has brought the school nine championships since his arrival in 1985. Celebrating Auriemma’s success is this version of the Nike Kobe 9 Elite from customizer extraordinaire Mache Customs, commissioned by Nike. Continue reading to see Mache’s Kobe 9 creation that pays tribute to the University of Connecticut’s championship pedigree and let us know if you think they’ve perhaps earned some PE pairs at this point.

Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit “Multi-Color”

April 11th, 2014 by | 10 comments

nike free 4 0 flyknit multi color Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit Multi Color

If there’s one sort of colorway you can count on for any given pair of Nike Flyknits, it’s the “Multi-Color”. That approach has helped bring a sort of HTM feel to more general release silhouettes coming out of Beaverton with the knitted look. The Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit is the next sneaker to don that busy look, as shown in this set of preview images for the upcoming pair. It’s not quite as thorough in its approach as previous Multis though – the toebox and that space on the back are both allowed to take a break from the colorful blend. Continue reading to see more images of them and watch for info on their US release here on Sneaker News.

The Nike Kobe 9 EM won’t be completely overshadowed this week by the Nike Kobe Elite Low HTM, as this wild colorway has shown up at the last minute to turn some heads. The busy upper reminds us that the Engineered Mesh material is very much viable when it comes to graphics and patterns – this one being a red and blue affair with a jumbo #24 hit mixed in. Continue reading to see more on this pair with its reflective Swoosh and its icy outsole and keep in mind that select Euro spots (End Clothing and ATAF among them) will apparently launch them tomorrow, but there’s no info on a US arrival yet.

jordan shine sneaker red 7 A Detailed Look at the Jordan Shine

Jordan Brand continues to make major steps towards extending their dominance beyond just the basketball category. Granted, the brand has long since created models meant for more than your standard on-court activities, but those previous attempts haven’t really made an impact like those that we’ve seen in 2014. They’ve shown that they can build buzz around a more sportswear type casual design with the Jordan Future, which was a sellout success at its debut and has more on the way. They’re planning on tackling the running realm with the Jordan Flight Runner that’s coming for May. But perhaps the toughest sell of them all is the luxury-leaning Jordan Shine, which we’ve got a detailed look at courtesy of Project Blitz.

The multi-layered nature of the Nike KD 6 Elite, inspired by the transparent structure of KD’s favorite watches, makes for a rather unique color-blocking scheme.
