The latest LunarSpider takes its name literally with a web of Dynamic Flywire across the upper, so it’s only natural to see this lightweight runner treated to an animal pattern. The Nike LunarSpider+ R4 is the latest in a line of popular Asia-only lightweight Lunar runners, and this rendition reflects the Far East’s early adoption of the wild prints that’ve become all the rage here in the US. The LunarSpider series occasionally arrives at Euro retailers but hasn’t yet arrived stateside, so keep your eyes peeled for availability on these leopard print colorways and stick with Sneaker News for the latest.

In honor of the first Air Pegasus’ 30th anniversary, Nike Sportswear has whipped up a new variation whose style we first saw on the spring’s Vengeance SD releases. The Nike Pegasus 83 SD has the familiar shape of the Air Pegasus ’83, but while the Hybrid update opted for a Hyperfuse constructed upper, these reach even further back into history for a welted build at the rear sole. This old school approach emphasizes that models like the ’83 Pegs are truly modern classics, and these should hit select NSW retailers along with additional colorways in July.

If you’re going to update the NB996, there are a couple of indispensable colorways that demand to be modernized. Here we see the original grey and white suede and mesh makeup refreshed for 2013 as the New Balance 996 REVlite gets close to the OG GY edition whose color code they share. These appear to add some additional reflectivity while opting for a darker shade of grey than the classics, tiny degrees of difference that separate this homage from its parentage. There are three forthcoming New Balance 574s that boost the classic suede and mesh construction with the one-piece ‘N’ as made famous by the 577. This pair in green stands out from red and yellow pairs, both of which opt for blue accents. With red hits, there’s a vague Christmas-y vibe on this pair, though you could also argue it’s got a subtle lizard appeal as well. In any case, it’s an energetic take on classic New Bal aesthetics that will be welcomed warmly when they arrive in the second half.

Camouflage colorways hint that the Nike LunarGlide+ 5 has more graphic options in store (not to mention the NSW versions), but most of the styles we’ve seen previewed have been more restrained. Here is perhaps the most subdued yet, a Wolf Grey makeup with white outsole and a hint of Sonic Yellow, which appears greener than usual in these images. The Air Pegasus ’83 will get a long overdue retro treatment as part of its 30th anniversary this year, and Nike Sportswear is doing one of the things they do so well in updating this suede and nylon classic. Or should we say Hyperfuse and mesh classic, because the Nike Air Pegasus 83 Hybrid offers a lightweight and highly breathable modern alternative. These catch the eye with a contrasting band through the midfoot and will arrive this July at select NSW retailers.

Our first glimpse at the updated 996 depicted five colorways done similarly to the original GY edition. Here’s a fresh New Balance 996 REVlite that goes in a different direction, adding a grey contrast stitch to the black upper. This in combination with reflective branding plus gold accents creates an effect almost like jewelry laid out on a black velvet surface.
