Following up on last month’s bold Pimento/black colorway comes a new vulc-soled Dunk Low from Nike Skateboarding with a decidedly more low-key look. It’s all neutral everything on the newest Nike Dunk Low LR, a Soft Grey and Anthracite textile and suede construction atop the gum brown bottoms. Supra’s ‘Desert Camo’ Passion launched in February has turned out to be probably the most popular Mike ‘Lizard King’ Plumb Crown brand signature to date. It has done so well, one of Supra’s top retailers has just released two more exclusive desert camouflage models. These Supra Skytops and Stacks take on the same ‘Stormin Norman’ look as the Passions, but both go for black laces instead of beige. The Vans Era is a skateboarding icon. Its continued success proves that people very much like knowing what they’re getting into, and the Era consistently pleases in a huge range of styles. One thing that’s common to the vast majority of them is a white waffle sole, whether it happens to have a contrasting foxing stripe or as has been increasingly the case in recent years, an all-white ‘marshmallow’ approach. Just on the other side of the Sole Classics ‘Carmen’ revelation, we see more evidence of the Era dabbling in colored soles, as the ‘Pop’ Outsole Era sets up a clean Grey/Neon with the kind of simple yet engaging look we’re surprised we haven’t seen more often already. Look for this to change moving forward because this style is peaking right now and they’re sure to be a popular choice with the tantalizing $45 pricetag up for grabs straight from Vans.

The Vans Old Skool just dropped in original colorways as part of a collection of Off the Wall classics. Opposite the Old Skool were a couple of Palm Leaf Eras, one of which you could strip the pink graphics from and arrive at the same color scheme as this new drop. In teal and black with white on the laces and Jazz Stripe this silo originated, you get a hint of that ‘Tiffany’ palette that Diamond Supply helped make synonymous with skateboarding. We got our first look at this latest Vans Sk8-Hi release nearly eleven months ago. There hasn’t been so much as a peep since, which means only today with the retail release do we find that it’s a collaboration with Vans surfer Dane Reynolds. Reynolds’ Sk8-Hi Reissue SF utilizes an aloha print created specifically for Vans Surf, and the collection of pastels accented by earthy greens means they’re good to go with just about anything. The Nike SB Zoom Air Verona returned out of nowhere last week when Chet Childress’ collabo brought back the Elephant toe makeup with a Dark Obsidian upper. Here we see Nike Skateboarding’s slip-on shoe opt for a cleaner approach, as instead of the Air Jordan signature print, we get a simpler all-canvas build. The Pimento upper is a bold red shade that’ll spice up your summertime, whether you’re skating or taking advantage of the casual appeal. Columbus, Ohio’s Sole Classics gave us a good look at their Vans Vault Era “Carmen” with a video preview last week. Today we see a yarn spun that brings together the Buckeye State’s passion for football, their 1996 license plate design and a mysterious high school legend. The symbolism is deep here, including everything from the pebbled football leather heel tab to the removed Wikipedia entry for Jack ‘Ice’ Henderson. Sole Classics takes a simple classic and lovingly applies layers of detail in tribute to its home state, where these will be released this Saturday, May 25th with an online drop to follow that evening.
