The Supra Society pictured above is a brand new combination of colors and materials, but we wouldn’t blame you for thinking it looks familiar. More countries in the world use the red, white and blue trio than any other color combination, a third of the teams set to begin spring training for Major League Baseball share the same colors and we’re currently in the leap-month of an Olympic year where the host and the Games’ historically dominant nation both rock this familiar look. How skateboarding has yet to earn a spot as an Olympic sport is mindboggling given the inclusion of events like ballroom dancing, rhythmic gymasics and snowboarding, but this almost USAB-style ‘Midnight’ Society gives you that five-rings look until the IOC recognizes what’s likely the most significant new sport to emerge in the past half-century. Let us know how these compare to the litany of similarly colored kicks we’ve seen over the years, and grab your ‘Midnight’ Society straight from Supra.

If their Valentine’s Day 2012 output is any indication of things to come, be on the lookout for something like a hundred thousand color- and otherwise-themed packs from Supra this summer. The Crown brand has been cranking up the holiday-style releases just like all the other brands, so going from a single release last year to now five this time around is the kind of thing that’ll have you expecting big things from their catalog as the year progresses. Joining the ‘V-Day’ Vaiders and ‘Heartbreaker II’ Societys is a trio of red Satin TUF models including the brand’s foundational silhouette, the Supra Skytop. There’s also a Society Mid and Cuttler Low so you have all the possible heights covered now; which one of Supra’s Valentine’s Day ’12 designs will be yours? These three are all available now directly from Supra and you can see more images of each after the jump.

Vans just showed off a black suede and blue canvas ‘Two Tone’ pack for spring, and they could have just as easily applied that name to this latest trio of releases on their most famous hightop silhouette. The Vans Sk8-Hi trio pictured above opts for the equally inert label ‘Suede Pack’ instead, even for one pair that looks like it was borrowed from the aforementioned set to equal out both packs’ numbers. Brown/black and gold/black leave the overall feel of these more similar to an autumnal release than something slated for spring, but we expect them at retail before the end of March. Have a look at all three below and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the latest Vans releases. via FNG

That thing we said about Supra taking the direct approach to commemorating Valentine’s Day 2012? You can double down on that, as this new release joining the V-Day Vaiders not only matches the Vaider’s obvious color scheme, but it’s also the second model to offer a ‘Heartbreaker’ theme. Following up on 2010′s all-red Skytop comes this new Supra Society in a combination of waxed suede and Express TUF, along with key details like distinctive heel striping, a broken heart hangtag and a similar symbol on the insoles. Supra isn’t shy about taking advantage of the themes that come around each year; are these the most exciting holiday-themed drop yet? Only 413 pairs will be available at select retailers on Saturday, February 11th, so click through for the list of stores plus a few more photos.

Nike SB has tended toward toned-down looks for a good while now, but one drop that’s sure to garner a ton of attention each year is the shoe set to release on and thematically represent a certain notorious day two-thirds of the way through April. The past two years have given us Todd Bratrud’s ‘Skunk’ and ‘Cheech and Chong’ Dunk High SBs on 4/20, but this time around Swoosh skateboarding looks within to find inspiration from a classic silver box drop of the lowtop version. The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski will release in a green-outlined, gum-soled white suede design reminiscent of August oh-four’s hemp-uppered ’Bonsai’ Dunk Low Pro SB, but will they excite rebellious skaters as much as the Bratrud designs? Let us know what you think when you click through for more angles, and stick with Sneaker News for updates. via N-SB

We just mentioned Todd Bratrud’s ‘Cheech and Chong’ Dunk High SB from last spring in reference to the upcoming ‘Bonsai’ Stefan Janoskis, but this model pictured above has it all over that pair when it comes to drama surrounding its release. The Entourage x Nike SB Dunk Low Premium ‘Lights Out’ has managed to outlive the hit HBO series, and with more delays and confusion than possibly any other single shoe in history, we wouldn’t blame you for being skeptical about new word of an eventual retail release. But that’s exactly what just happened when Northampton, Mass’ Unite reported that they’ll have a Quickstrike release in March or April of this year, just about a year after the ‘Entourage’ LeBron 8 V/2s dropped in 2011. Let us know how you feel about all this back and forth and stick with Sneaker News for updates.

Vans has arguably done more for the classic plimsoll design than any other brand since Keds (or maybe even the Liverpool Rubber Company who pioneered the design in the early 19th century?!), but instead of the oxford style, this new model from the Core lineup is constructed more like a derby shoe. That means the eyestay is attached atop the vamp on the new Vans Type II lowtop, though it’s pulled back to protect the ollie area. This results in a model that looks like the logical continuation from Authentic to Era to forty years later, and you can see some of the blocking possibilities in the first four colorways we’ll show you after the jump. While you’re there, let us know how this new design compares to Off the Wall’s established favorites. These’ll be hitting Vans Core retailers in February, so be on the lookout and stick with Sneaker News for new colorways. via FNG

Before Supra started nicknaming every trio of themed sneaker designs they released last summer, there was another massively popular skate brand that utilized this technique. In that way as well as the designs and colors being utilized, the Vans Classics ‘Two Tone’ Pack hearkens to the past, and there’s even the tiniest bit of Magic in these vaguely Orlando-like releases for this NBA All-Star month. But once you strip away all the unnecessary connections, you’re back to black and blue atop a white waffle sole, a look that’s replicated across the Vans Half Cab, Era and 106 Vulc. With a company whose tagline is ‘Off the Wall’, you come to expect the unexpected, so what will Vans have in store for its fans for the second half of this year? The dominant theme appears to be all-over prints, as we see a variety of the original skate brand’s staple models cast in graphically intense new colorways. The patterns range from a cracked earth-over-camo look that gives you one of those “Why didn’t I think of that?!” moments to a traditional Hawaiian floral look and a few of Vans’ favorite Native American styles sprinkled in for good measure. You can see this variety of Vans Sk8-His, Eras, Slip-Ons and all your other favorites in additional images after the jump, and stick with Sneaker News for updates as they drop later in the year. via HB

There’s no doubt that in the minds on many sneakerheads the word ‘Supra’ immediately conjures up images of high-hitting silhouettes. And while they certainly have made a name for themselves with models like the Skytop and the High Society, the brand knows how to make a low as well. Case in point is the Supra Bullet, the original signature sneaker for team skater Mike ‘Lizard King’ Plumb. Shown here in two new suede colorways of black and purple, respectively, the sneaker is poised for a bit of a resurgence in advance of the latest Lizard King release. Follow us after the jump for a look at both new pairs of the Supra Bullet and grab them online from the Crown Brand now.
