adidas Originals Forum Mid ‘Diamond’

Coming on the heels of the two LDRS1354-designed ‘Moccasin’ pairs comes a new adidas Originals Forum Mid created by Three Stripes’ in house designers, one that feels familiar thanks to a couple other recent standouts.  This new Forum Mid ‘Diamond’ is blacked-out in a mix of smooth and patent leathers, adding white to the midsole for a bit of contrast while the multicolored lateral ankle studs play the starring role.  Just by their coloring, these don’t appear to be the same Swarovski crystals used on the white Superstar XLs that hit a short while back, and they’re a far cry from the $2500 asking price for those colette x Jeremy Scott JS Wings that released in 2009.  Click through to get a better view, let us know what you think of crystal studs’ place in snekaer design, and pick up yours today from adidas Originals retailers like Size?.

Sneaker News hasn’t covered too many of Japanese avant gardists Visvim’s recent releases, but are they back on the scene now, this time in collaboration with adidas Originals?  Put simply, the answer is ‘no’, but you can’t deny the connections this new Three Stripes collabo shares with that Native American-inspired brand.  In fact, the Leaders 1354 x adidas Originals Forum Moccasin Mid can be seen to borrow from Visvim’s shrouded FBT chukka, a model that has on many occasions offered a similar frilly collar, and one that directly influenced a whole range of subsequent releases from other brands.  This new pair goes with a deep brown leather whose blue embroidery accents give a clue as to some of the upper’s undertones, and they’ll be available this Saturday, December 17th straight from LDRS1354.  via RegularOlTy

adidas Originals Forum Mid ‘Leopard’

Our earliest previews of adidas Originals’ plans for 2011 had us expecting the Brand with the Three Stripes to spend the year on safari.  Quite a few animal printed designs were previewed late last year and into the spring, but the pace of their releases has been a bit slower, than say, a cheetah’s sprint.  This new adidas Originals Forum Mid takes its spots from a different cat, laying black leather over a leopard printed horsehair that manages to give the classic design a fresh twist without overwhelming onlookers’ eyes.  Click on the jump so you can see how the spots look on different areas and with these arriving at Japan’s Chapter World, expect them at US adidas Originals retailers soon.

adidas Originals Forum Mid Kawall W

The adidas Originals Forum Mid has seen a fairly wide array of variations over the past couple years, this latest release for ladies both less and more obvious in it’s own way.  The Forum Mid Kawall W will no doubt attract attention thanks to the glossy patent leather uppers, but without this eye-catching material (or perhaps because of it), would you notice how the Forum’s signature ankle strap has been de-velcro’d in favor of a belt-like loop closure?  It’s certainly one of the highlights of this tonal pink plus red and white design along with the die-cut cherries along the rear, and you can see more angles after the jump, then buy yours from Kicks-crew.

Though they haven’t been produced in as many colorways as the Nike Air Force 1 (actually, NO sneaker has), the adidas Forum Mid can be seen as Three Stripes’ answer to the Uptown.  The Forum has indeed enjoyed a wide range of releases spanning various colorways and material variations, and the Forum Mid Lite RS offers a lighter take on their ’80s basketball aesthetic thanks to a new EVA midsole.  This brown leather edition is the kind of thing you can keep as your default throughout the winter months, a large red canvas section on the rear adding some extra punch to keep you going in the colder weather.  Click through to get a better look and pick up a pair from adidas Originals retailers like TGWO.

X-Girl x adidas Originals FRM XG Suede

Supreme and UNDFTD are like the Biggie and Tupac of modern streetwear, so to extend the analogy, you could see Japan’s X-Large as something like the Wu-Tang Clan.  X-Large has been around for longer than both of those brands and hit big in the early ’90s thanks in no small part to a big push from the Beastie Boys, and to wrap things up neatly, maybe this new shoe could be considered the Kreayshawn of sneakers.  Not for everyone, to be sure, this new adidas Originals Forum FRM XG Suede from X-Large’s ladies brand is brash and bold with an eye-catching purple upper finished off by teal and red accents.  Click through to get a better view of the latest X-girl collaboration and look for them at Japanese retailers like Styles.

“I’m never making them again. I’d refuse to do it. I want to respect the people that have appreciated it so much and who have blessed that shoe with what it is.”

That’s what Jeremy Scott said with regard to his breakout performance, the 2002 adidas Forum Mid ‘Money’ that sent shockwaves through the industry we still feel to this day. adidas Originals reached out to find collaborators to hearken back to the past but with a twist and launched the ’B-Sides’ collectionwith brands like BAPE and UNDFTD contributing their own historically-influenced designs. It’s a perfect occasion to have Scott reprise some of his most important work without having him go back on his word to re-use the infamous currency jacquard, and so here’s the Jeremy Scott x adidas OriginalsForum Hi ‘B-Sides’, a design reminiscent of that all-over OG thanks to the designer’s name criss-crossing the tonal brown upper. Click through to see more angles and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via SF
