The Jordan 6 Rings is kind of a weird model to dish out as player exclusive given the rather lofty achievements conjured up by the sneaker’s name. And yet that didn’t stop Jordan Brand from outfitting Carmelo Anthony with this personalized pair of the shoe during his long stay with the Denver Nuggets. The shoe goes for a black base the gets turned up by plenty of color thanks to the yellow/orange accents and just a few bits of blue. Get more of this unique Jordan 6 Rings, a pair that’s sort of fallen by the wayside in favor of some other hybrid stuff as of late, and then check out the group auction featuring both this pair and a similar Air Jordan XII from corriangel on eBay.

Yesterday, Major League Baseball celebrated Jackie Robinson Day with a league-wide tribute of #42 jerseys and special gear, with the Jordan Brand trio of C.C. Sabathia, Jimmy Rollins, and Carl Crawford hitting the diamond with special Jordan Brand PEs. Although C.C. Sabathia had a day off, Jimmy Rollins and Carl Crawford took the field with their Jordan 6 Rings PEs, with Crawford going the alternate route and wearing the White pair on the left and the Royal blue pair in the right. Rollins chose a similar route by switching up the shoes for his at-bats (he’s pictured here with the white pair). Check out some more of yesterday’s Jackie Robinson Day celebration and stay tuned for more MLB Feet because it looks like we should expect more this season.

66 years ago today Jackie Robinson took to the baseball diamond to make history as the first black man to play ball in major league baseball’s modern era. Celebrating his contribution to the game, and indeed to the American Civil Rights movement at large, Jordan Brand athletes C.C Sabathia, Jimmy Rollins, and Carl Crawford will suit up in this special version of the Jordan 6 Rings for tonight’s action. The sneakers feature a royal blue and white colorway and a special “42″ hit on the back end in honor of Robinson, and C.C. Sabathia is giving them away on Twitter! Follow C.C. Sabathia on Twitter and join in on the giveaway.

Generally when we get a group of celebs all sporting sneakers they’re not actually putting them to work in the the athletic sense, instead cooling on the red carpet or rocking the stage. The case of the recent LudaDay Weekend event was a bit different, with celebs flocking to the spot for the charity basketball game that capped off the festivities. Some bona fide ballers were in the building including Kenyon Martin and Shannon Brown, a group offset by the likes of Big Tigger with some 3M equipped Air Jordan XIII’s, Mase who traded his shiny suit for some shiny sneakers in the form of the Air Jordan 20120 Lite (Kevin Hart came through with the same), and of course host Ludacris in what appears to be the black carbon fiber version of the Jordan 6 Rings. Click through to see these and more from the LudaDay Weekend and give us your thoughts on the sneaker sightings in the comments below.

If any of you can remember when Michael Jordan first hosted Saturday Night Live back in September of 1991, you’d know that Bill Swerski and his Superfriends displayed a level of sports-centric clairvoyance. Bill and his pals noted that Michael would win at least eight straight NBA Championships, and had Michael not retired in 1993 as well as in 1998, they most certainly would have been correct. Sadly, Michael won just a mere six NBA Championships, but it certainly would have been a tough task for the Jordan Brand creative team to design a Jordan 8 Rings, wouldn’t it? In any case, the ‘Carbon Fiber’ version of the super-hybrid Jordan shoe is set to drop two Saturdays from now, so cop them at Jordan Brand retailers like SoleFly or get a pair now on eBay.
