The Kobe 8 skipped out on the whole “Black History Month” setup this year as far as retail releases were concerned, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t pairs produced featuring that theme. In fact, there are a couple different versions featuring that sort of graphic. This Kobe 8 “BHM” joint breaks from the others in its refusal to pick up on the purple and gold colorway, they’ve instead got a slightly more colorful palette. There were no Kobe sneakers in this year’s BHM collection. We’re assuming that had something to do with the odd timing of the group; the Kobe 8 had just ended its run and the 9 was to come a week later, and the fact that Kobe himself wouldn’t be around to get the sneakers on court. But there was indeed a Kobe 8 BHM created, and this is that sneaker. As you can see, they stick with the equation of black/purple/gold and feature some tribal looking graphics across the upper.
