michael jordan 1995 playoff loss 1 The Last Time Michael Jordan Lost In The Second Round

Thus far, the 2014 NBA Playoffs have delivered everything we’ve expected of pro sports in the postseason. The high stress, hard fouls, heady plays, and hefty comebacks have delivered some high-octane entertainment, all of which pale in comparison to the fact that the eventual champion is still a big question mark. Needless to say, it’s been nothing but must-see-TV in the NBA front over the last two weeks, a nice departure from best-of-sevens of recent years that seem to reach a conclusion after two or three games.┬áThere’s obviously more of a story when there isn’t a clear-cut winner and lower-seeded teams emerge as contenders, but in the┬ádecade prior to the new century, it was all Jordan; he and the Bulls dominated when it came to the “second” season and the power shifted back to the West only when MJ was absent from the game. After all, during his retirement announcement, he had said that he no longer felt a challenge with the game of basketball, having won three Championships in a row. That left a number of entities scrambling for secondary plans of action, and while the Jordan-less era was still respectable in its own right, it was evident that things would no longer be the same.

michael jordan unc University Blues: A Look Back at Air Jordans in Tar Heel Colors

Michael Jordan is synonymous with the Chicago Bulls thanks to the six NBA titles he amassed in an eight year span. But he made a name for himself with pro scouts with three strong years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. That tenure started off with a bang in his freshman year, with his clutch game-winner over Georgetown at the 1982 NCAA Championship, but the UNC spirit lived on in the pros as he regularly wore his UNC practice shorts under his Bulls uniform.
