This exclusive set featured the more celebrated “Tinker era” of Jordans with the Charlotte Hornets concept in mind, resulting in purple and teal accents never seen before on an Air Jordan Retro. Earlier today, Jordan put Air Jordan 13 version on his feet during another media event, so it looks like these PEs aren’t for the players, but for the man himself. Today’s a big day for basketball fans as the NBA season kicks off, but an even bigger one if you’re a Charlotte Hornets fan. Not only has your team returned with their original colors intact, but owner Michael Jordan – you might have heard of him – decided to take over the team’s twitter. His exploits were highlighted by showcasing a 11 total “Hornets” Air Jordan PEs but there was a lot more going on behind the scenes as well. Between calling out Jordan Brand athlete Keegan Bradley and shaking his head at he state of the Hornets’ locker room (but praising Al Jefferson’s Air Jordan 29s) we don’t know which part was our favorite. Oh, yea – the Air Jordan PEs were. Uncovering one such item is Reddit user ReeferSutherland24, who uploaded the entirety of this Michael Jordan children’s book from Scholastic. As to be expected, the text doesn’t contain any particularly riveting breakdowns of Michael’s game, but it’s still a cool piece of history on the man that’s got plenty of Air Jordan angles in it.
