nike air max 1 dark dune catalina 2 Nike Air Max 1 Dark Dune Catalina Hyper Punch

The Nike Air Max 1 has been editing the color blocking atop the shoe with the likes of the “Split Sole” release, and even taking a two-toned approach by having¬†the¬†lower half of the sneaker hit with a seamless one shade to contrast fromt he base. That seems to be the go to look for this Summer, as Nike continues with that thought process upon this “Dark Dune” release. The sneaker gets a casual khaki base that alternates between mesh on the toebox and ankle while the main side panel and Swoosh get outfitted in suede, then the lower half surprises thanks to a vibrant teal while hyper punch lines sneaker. When thinking about the rare sneaker samples that had collectors in the frenzy over the last few years, the name of DJ Clark Kent immediately comes to mind. In 2009, the Brooklyn-based producer and DJ got the opportunity to collaborate with Nike for a special release commonly referred to as the “112 Pack”, which features the Air Force 1, Air Max 1, and Air Trainer 1 dressed up in an incredible combination of Volt tones, Elephant Print, and Reflective panels. The three details are indeed honored figments of legendary Nikes of the past, but to see them all together at once? Gotta give credit to Clark for that.

Nike Air Max 1 – Brown – University Blue – Volt

June 12th, 2014 by | No comments

nike air max 1 brown university blue volt 01 Nike Air Max 1 Brown University Blue Volt

Rarely does brown and a color as vibrant as Nike’s photo blue work well together, but the Swoosh then proved us wrong by even adding in a dash of volt just to prove us wrong atop their latest Air Max 1. This release falls somewhere between casual and head-turning which seems fairly traditional for their flagship air max runner as the brown shade that serves as a base is dark enough to pass for black at first glance and the lower half of the shoe gets served in blue. Add in a white midsole to separate the volt outsole, a shade that also lines the sneaker, and this is one of the odder releases in recent memory. As always, continue onward for a better look at the latest Nike Air Max 1 after the click and know that you can purchase this pair today via JD Sports.

Face it folks – this is the closest you’ll ever get to a Retro of the Air Max 1 “Curry”. The shade of orange is a bit different and there’s no Royal Blue in sight, but this general release is a nice consolation prize for those who never got to cop the Currys back in the day (even when they hit outlets for $40). Shops in other continents are getting these in stock right now, so check out the photos below and stay tuned for updated availability in State-side stores.

nike wmns air max 1 split sole june 2014 01 570x399 Nike Womens Air Max 1 Split Sole for June 2014

The Nike Air Max 1 has seen drastic changes to its upper recently, whether it be summer renditions like the EM iteration and Tape varieties, but one change that turned heads was more of a color blocking decision than any physical alteration thanks to the whole Split Sole look that saw the midsole share two colors for the first time. Nike hasn’t forgotten about the ladies either, as two new hues arrive atop the Air Max 1 in a cotton candy esque royal blue and vivid pink while the other pair utilizes a wolf grey and purple. Nike Air Max 1 Lunar “OG Sport Red”

The Nike Air Max Lunar 1 was bound to happen soon or later. What may have thrown you off though was the sneaker arriving with not only a rearrange tooling, but also a reworked upper that further futurizes the build. That Lunar cushioning on bottom is a bit different than the setup we’ve seen elsewhere on NSW shoes in that the whole bellows look is collapsed so that there’s only one fold in the materials. See another quick angle on these Nike Lunars after the break and watch for a wider release in July.
