The Nike Air Max+ 2012 has shown that it can utilize its layered Hyperfuse construction to achieve wild new color combos and gradients, and now let’s look into the future to see what’s in store in the way of more traditional colorways. The Air Max 2012 will soon take over for its 2011 brethren, and for those shying away from the color created by laying translucent red and Volt on top of one another, these opaque designs could be just what you’re after. Black/red/white and black/white colorups don’t bear as obvious a mark that they were cast in layers of cutting edge synthetic materials, but the white/royal/black pair has just a bit of light blue created in its vertices that you get a sense for what it might be capable of showing. In viewing the red and Volt-accented white pair we previewed last week here on Sneaker News, we remarked that the Nike Air Max+ 2012 offers unique colorway opportunities owing to its layered Hyperfuse construction and the latticework of intertwining layers. Another prime example of how these advanced techniques result in novel approaches to sneaker design is pictured above in this new pair, a cotton candy colorup for ladies whose red/pink and bright blue sections come together to create a lovely violet shade. Palettes like these, some of the more outrageous LeBron 9s and KD IVs, and some of Nike ACG’s recent standouts offer the same kind of vivid exuberance we came to associate with Nike’s early ’90s golden era; should we take impressive efforts like these as a sign of a renaissance to come? We’ve shown you several previews of upcoming Nike runners over the past few days here on Sneaker News, and this latest look is the biggest of them all. The Nike Air Max+ 2012 moves the Swoosh’s franchise running series forward with a Hyperfuse construction that proves both the usefulness of last year’s implementation and the extent to which wild color combos can be pushed even further with the right kind of layering. The above pictured colorway is a prime example of how blending two shades together can make for some interesting offspring, and its vibrant red and Volt palette gives the Air Max 2012 a signature look when many of the past decade’s annuals have come and gone without a ‘nicknamed’ standout. Will this pair go down as an instant classic in the vein of the ‘Infrared’ AM90 or ‘Neon’ 95s? We’ll find out when these hit retailers early next year, and you can see some extra photos today after you click the jump below. via SF

Coming on the heels of our first in-depth look at a pair of Nike Air Max+ 2012s is this new edition that, coupled with the earlier Knicks/Mets look, provides a study in the composition of Hyperfuse. Detail-oriented sneakerheads will notice that this colorway is essentially the same as those minus the orange layer, and this simple yet striking difference begs the question: do you prefer the sublimated possiblities afforded by Hyperfuse, or is this more traditional approach to colorblocking more your speed? Have a look at more images after the jump, and if you’re lucky enough to wear US mens size 10, there’s a shockingly affordable sample available right now from non-stop-fame on eBay.

The Air Max flagship series from Nike Running featured Flywire uppers during 2009 and ’10 and switched to Hyperfuse this year, and it looks like lightweight and super-breathable beats ‘just’ lightweight, as the Nike Air Max+ 2012 will again feature a two-layered Fuse upper. The silhouette’s rounded lines will remind some of the Free Run 2, but you get considerably more cushioning thanks to a heel-to-toe Max Air cushion. If the universe ends next year along with the Mayan calendar, does the Air Max 2012 represent going out on top, or was one of its predecessors more impressive in your eyes?
