NIKE BLAZER MID The Nike Blazer Mid is a slightly altered version of the Nike Blazer High, the first of Nike’s foray into the world of basketball sneakers together with the Bruin. The Nike Blazer Mid features a smoother side wall on the rubber midsole along with a strip of foxing running along the base of the upper in comparison to the Nike Blazer High. The Nike Blazer Mid remains the less retro’d of these two closely related sneakers.

Nike Blazer Mid “Marble Mesh”

The US is often given the short end of the stick when it comes to Blazer releases. That notion doesn’t make as much noise as say, the like of Nike Huaraches over here, but take a look at the Blazer listings at any European sneaker store and you’ll notice quite a few pairs that you’ve likely never seen at a stateside boutique. Giving us a bit more love is this new pair, which is slated to release on August 9th on the most pedestrian of platforms, Nikestore. Take a look at the extra photos for the Nike Blazer Mid “Marble Mesh” below and mark them on your calendar if you’re trying to track them down.

The static marble look that shows up on this pair of Blazers shouldn’t look entirely foreign to you. We’ve actually seen it previously on a pair of Nike Lunar Force 1 Highs and before that on the Nike Kobe 9 NSW Lifestyle. Will the buck stop here, or are more NSW silhouettes set to don the look? Stay tuned to the answer to that question and make sure you check out the rest of the photos for this Nike Blazer Mid Premium TXT creation below.

Nike Blazer Mid ’77 “Independence Day”

nike blazer mid 77 independence day Nike Blazer Mid 77 Independence Day

The Nike Blazer Mid “Independence Day” will release on June 14th. That’s right, unlike some of the other 4th of July style sneakers showing up for 2014, these will actually be available well in advance rather than debuting right on that actual holiday. These do have just a little bit of a vintage look but not on the level of previous NSW releases – the evidence shows up mostly in the form of the exposed foam for the tongue. Take another look at this upcoming Blazer below and remember that Finishline is one of the spots who will be stocking them this weekend.

A History of Luxury Sneaker Copycats

saint laurent jordan 1 A History of Luxury Sneaker Copycats

Yesterday, news broke that New Balance is suing Karl Lagerfeld over a sneaker being sold by the German fashion designer that features an awfully NB-looking shape, complete with an “K” across the side in place of the usual “N”. That sort of appropriation is nothing new in terms of luxury brands though, and there are plenty of other pairs on the market that owe varying degrees of their DNA to more pedestrian sneaker designs. Legal activity in this realm isn’t an entirely new thing either – Jordan Brand previously chased down Gourmet for their tributes and even New Balance had previous a win in this category following their settlement with Louis Vuitton over a 574 ripoff from 2009.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Independence Day” isn’t the only patriotic style for the summer that Nike Sportswear has in the works. Also coming is this Nike Blazer Mid pair, which wears stripes for the base while adding in some stars onto the Swoosh, back panel, and foxing strip. Come to think of it this pair could also be a World Cup tie in meant to amp up USMNT support – we’ll have to wait and see on the timing of both to determine where their true allegiance lies. Continue reading to see more photos for them and pick your pair up today from Sneakerhead.

Nike Blazer Mid “Floral City Pack” – Release Date

floral pack nike blazer mid city Nike Blazer Mid Floral City Pack Release Date

The Nike Blazer Mid “Floral City Pack” will release on May 31st, 2014. The tie in to each of the associated cities actually runs deeper than just a quick script hit on the back side. Chicago’s pair has a chrysanthemums print as an ode to the official flower of the Windy City, the LA’s bird’s of paradise approach is meant to represent the always-sunny nature of that spot, and the NYC dandelion drop apparently has to do with the “wishful thinking and the quick pace” of life in city. Get the official imagery for each of them below and stay tuned for further sneaker release dates.

Normally when you see a pair of floral Blazers it’s a safe bet that they’re from the Liberty x Nike collection, but that’s not the case this time around. There are NYC, Chicago, and LA pairs, with all of the three shoes in the pack sporting distinct patterns. See each of these Nike Blazer Mids from the City Pack after the click and pick them up today from retailers like Social Status or on their official release date of 5/31 from Nike.
