Last year’s A.P.C. x Nike Sportswear capsule proved just how an understated and tonal colorway could stand out so effortlessly. A simple application of all-brown, all-navy, and all-white gave the Air Max 1 and Dunk High such intense character and it’s no surprise that those releases are still coveted today. Luckily for us, the A.P.C. x Nike Sportswear capsule will be revisited with the Nike Dunk High being one of the focal points for the upcoming release, and this preview of this all-beige colorway shows that A.P.C. isn’t ready to stray from their magic formula. Joining the exclusive league of Nike Sportswear Superheros is the Nike Dunk High, bringing with it a unique set of style of appeal to work in tandem with the Hyperflights and Lunar Force 1s. Although just two of the three colorways are shown here, you’ll get an idea of how the Nike Dunk High “Superhero” Pack was assembled, using the signature graphic on the tongue label and utilizing a sweet tesselation graphic on the uppers. After witnessing Nike’s AF1-XXX celebration last year, can we expect something similar for the Nike Dunk in 2016, when this college-specific sneaker will celebrate its own 30th birthday? If so, let’s hope releases like this finely crafted High-top hits stores. This sudden release is simply like nothing else we’ve seen, as the upper pairs a luxurious navy toe with a quilt pattern on the upper for a nice contrast with a leather tongue label and Swoosh being matched with work-boot style laces. This incredible new Nike Dunk High is indeed part of NSW’s Special Projects label, and right now it’s available now at Titan22 in the Philippines (potentially an exclusive release to them), so check out the full shot below and let us know if you’d like to see NSW get more creative with their Dunk releases.

Recent years have seen the original Nike Dunk ‘Be True’ slogan evolve from ‘…to Your School’ as in the Original 7 to more of a statement on the authenticity of the iconic series. These latest ‘Be True’ Nike Dunk iD samples aren’t exact replicas of those pioneering universities, but instead the rarely iD’d Lows in that old school BTTYS two-toned blocking pattern and Highs that reflect one of the more popular modern blocking templates. The recent UNDFTD x Nike ‘Bringback Pack’ was the sort of sneaker release that nobody could see coming. For those who have been keeping on eye on UNFTD’s output well before the current bubble of sneaker hype, the UNDFTD x Nike Dunk High was very much a grail. The clean white and gum combination actually marked the first time Nike ever reached out to do a team up with a sneaker boutique, and the sneaker very much signified the start of a new era in sports footwear wherein outside entities would be endlessly called upon to juice up your favorite retro silhouette.
What’s more, that first round of the UNDFTD x Nike Dunk High wasn’t even a retail affair – there were 24 pairs doled out to friends and family and that’s it. No lineups, no website crashes, and no Twitter RSVP – just a covert circulation of one of the cleanest Dunks of all time. Of course the ‘Bringback Pack’ 2013 version isn’t a one to one replica. This year’s retro went even heavier on the Undefeated branding by bringing in an ‘UNDFTD’ hits on the lacetips and a five strikes logo on the tongue tag. UNDFTD has been doing this sneaker collaboration thing for a while, and they know by now that sometimes less is more. Sort of in the same way that Supreme cranked out a simple set of bangers with their Nike Air Force 1 trio last year, Undefeated has whipped up a couple of Dunk styles that remain minimal in their execution. The result is the UNDFTD x Nike ‘Bring Back’ pack, which grabs their classic white/gum Nike Dunk High for another go around, and slaps the same palette on its contemporary the Nike Hyperdunk 2012. The two sneaker set very literally brings back the UNDFTD x Nike Dunk High white/gum pair from 2001, doing so via the standard Dunk High silhouette and via more contemporary means on the Nike Hyperdunk 2012.
