While there hasn’t been any notice of a second coming of the Zoom Eric Koston (not counting that Air Max 90 ‘Heritage’ hybrid shoe), some nice colorways of the original continue to surface. This black/hot red/neon green colorway is actually a sample pair of the Koston 1; it features a tonal black suede upper with quite a punchy midsole/outsole combination of the vibrant red tone and mossy green bottom layer. If you still don’t have a pair of Kostons riding in your rotation (and you should, because these are insanely comfortable), maybe a release of this sample will change that for you. We’ll let you know if these ever escape the ‘sample’ stage, but until then, let us know what you think of the colorway.

Anything bearing the name of super-skater Eric Koston should be firmly rooted in the Nike SB realm right? Well not exactly, as a handful of sigs are being pulled up from that sub-categorization and wiped of their SB branding, this particular model being one of them. Not that the Nike Zoom Koston 1 needs any fancy logo hits to make it stand out, as in this case a beautifully pure white upper and a classic gum sole do the trick just fine. Click through for the full angles and let us know in the comments how you feel about the reorganizing of the Nike SB range, also make sure to hit up the team at Premier to grab this Nike Zoom Eric Koston now.

We’re bordering on an all-out free for all for cross campus collabos these days, with Converse Jordans and Nike Lunar basketball shoes. What’s next? The apparent answer is this Nike SB x Nike Sportswear team up that sees the relatively recent Nike SB Zoom Koston 1 infused with the staple silhouette of the Nike Air Max 90. Still no word on a release date so this teaser image from Nike SB will have to do, one that shows off the back badge in a decidedly ‘Infrared’ looking colorway. Let us know what you think in the comments below and stay tuned for more shots from this collaborative sneaker.

We’ve already seen quite a bit of what Nike SB has in store for the second quarter of next year, but leaving this newest Eric Koston signature out of the mix would be as bad a mistake as creating a sneaker rotation wihtout at least one grey suede go-to. The latest Nike SB Zoom Koston 1 revelation plays like some of New Balance’s greatest hits thanks to the Soft Grey suede uppers, but are sure to both skate better and ride just as smoothly thanks to the unique LunarLon cushioning system that figures to play a major role in Swoosh skateboarding’s near future. Before we knew that their Nike SB ’94 was coming back in two new colorways for the holiday season, it looked like the collaboration between Supreme and Swoosh skateboarding for 2011 would have come on the lines of Eric Koston’s first SB sig. The Nike SB Eric Koston 1 was depicted around the turn of the year with the red box logo superimposed atop a blurred out colorway, but that model turned out to be the Sport Red and Tourmaline GR that released without a bit of the hype typically associated with New York’s skate kings. Here’s another new Koston 1 in red that won’t see Supreme attached once it hits retail, though this one certainly bears a resemblance to ‘Preme’s logo with its crisp colorblocking. The brand’s backbone consists of designs like the Blazer and Dunk that’ve been around for decades; could the same hold true for Nike SB’s Zoom Koston 1? It might be unlikely to see a skater’s signature repeated for that long, especially when Paul Rodriguez has already set the bar at an annual product cycle, but there’s no denying the Koston One’s timeless appeal, especially in this classic summer colorway. This is one of those shoes that’s a particularly strong candidate for a boldly colored lace swap, but they can just as easily serve as a calming note amid your otherwise energetic summertime wardrobe. Given that we’ve already seen a trio slated for spring 2012 and that the November Nike SB shipment included another pair in Dark Obsidian, it’s reasonable to conclude that the above pictured Nike SB Zoom Koston 1 will be hitting retailers in time for this year’s last month. They’re done up in a fairly timeless combination of grey and another splash of the Dark Obsidian shade, their presence at Korean e-tailer Kasina indicating that a stateside release cannot be too far off. Click through so you can see more of this Granite Eric Koston SB after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release date.

Outside of the Zoom Kobe VI mashup edition that came out around the time of its debut this summer, the Nike SB Zoom Koston 1 very well might be Swoosh skateboarding’s single most simple silhouette. Eric Koston might have some competition from Stefan Janoski’s equally classically styled signatures, but there’s no denying that the relatively plain good looks of the Koston 1 bely its superior technical abilities. This new Dark Obsidian colorway has royal blue and grey accents along with a white sole to ensure you can rock them easily with nearly anything in your clothing arsenal, and they just popped up on shelves at shops like Premier.
