Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 ‘LA Sparks’ @ Nike Vault

nike hyperfuse 2011 LA sparks 1 Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 LA Sparks @ Nike Vault

Since it opened at Staples Center in Los Angeles last September, Nike Vault has played host to a variety of special releases, all at least somewhat basketball related, and all but one connected to Lakers megastar Kobe Bryant.  The only exception was Blake Griffin’s All-Star Sunday visit in the wake of his Kia-leaping victory in the Dunk Contest, but the latest will honor the team for whom the WNBA’s very first jam was scored.  Check out this Mardi Gras LA Sparks colorway on the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011, a festive look that’s sure to draw more male fans than the ladies’ Association itself.  The combination of this colorway on the second Hyperfuse model from Nike Basketball feels like something of an anachronism given the past few years of simple ‘mature’ palettes, and they’ll be available in honor of the Sparks’ 15th WNBA season starting at 5pm on Tuesday, June 21st.  Click through for more, let us know if you’re planning to get a pair and stick with Sneaker News for the latest Nike Vault release dates.

The Nike Hyperfuse released in July 2010, making its grand stage debut at the World Basketball Festival and the 2010 FIBA World Championships. As one of Nike’s lightest performance basketball shoes ever created (thanks to the three-layer uber-lightweight Fuse material), the Nike Hyperfuse became a huge hit during the following NBA season, and continues to be in use today. The sophomore effort of the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse is that of the same name with a current year designation, and features a re-tooled Fuse upper and redesigned midsole. This new colorway combines White and Wolf Grey with accents of Volt, Team Red, and a shimmering Metallic Luster on the swoosh. Check out the detailed images below and be the first to cop the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 now because they’ll hit soon at Nikestore.

nike basketball lakers game issued pes summary Nike Basketball Los Angeles Lakers Game Issued Autographed PEs

Los Angeles is a major Nike Basketball hotspot thanks to Kobe Bryant and the Nike Zoom Kobe VI. Although Kobe Bryant is the only Laker player with a Nike signature shoe, most of the Lakers notables are decked out in Nike gear, like Lamar Odom, who is known for wearing some of the slickest PEs, Shannon Brown, who got a special PE of the Nike Zoom Kobe V for the 2010 Dunk Contest, and other key players on the squad. Here we have a nice collection of game-issued Nike Basketball sneakers, each pair autographed by the player who intended to wear them; two Kobe VIs for Kobe along with one each for Brown and Luke Walton, Andrew Bynum’s Zoom Hyperfuse, and what might be the cream of the crop, Lamar Odom’s Zoom Hyperfuse 2011. Want  a pair of these? Check out all six below because we’ve got a detailed gallery as well as direct links to the auctions from nytryder8 on eBay.

Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 – Black – Blue + Black – Red

With Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder losing to Dallas in the Western Conference Finals, the upcoming Hyperfuse model won’t have a signature athlete adding to its exposure like Rajon Rondo with last year’s edition.  But that doesn’t mean we can’t expect a similarly expansive run of Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 colorways in the coming months, and if these two are any indication, it’ll be quite an impressive run.  This duo of Hyperfuse 2011s add a unique iridescent lateral Swoosh to their otherwise two-toned uppers, the blue/black edition gaining an edge thanks to its neon sockliner.  Click through to see more images of both pairs, let us know which one you prefer and stick with Sneaker News for word on their US release.  via UC

With the Western Conference number 1 seed San Antonio Spurs eliminated in six games (could have easily been five) by the underdog Memphis Grizzlies, you know anything can happen in the NBA Playoffs.  But even with the Grizz riding a wave of momentum unlike anything the franchise has ever experienced, you gotta figure Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder would have to be ready to give Memphis all they can handle.  And on Tuesday night, Westbrook stepped up with 24 points including a bunch of buckets where he got to the rim rocking the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011.  Have a look at this Russell Westbrook player exclusive colorway from Nike Basketball, its ‘Creamsicle’ colorway enhanced by the ‘Why Not’ logo on their high-reaching tongues.  How does it compare to Westbrook’s other PEs or any of your other favorites from our NBA Feet column?
