After the tragic events at the Boston Marathon one month ago, Packer Shoes quickly bounced into the aid effort by donating all of its proceeds from the sales of its New Balance “Boston Marathon” releases. The outpour of charity-driven purchases and additional donations allowed Packer Shoes to donate a hefty amount to the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club, where Martin Richard, the 8-year-old victim of the attacks, spent a bulk of his free time. Packer Shoes would like to continue the effort by donating 10% of its sales from May 15th to May 31st directly to the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club. Along with purchases made between now and the end of the month, customers also have the opportunity to donate more at their own discretion. Read Packer Shoes’ full statement below, and head to Packer Shoes to purchase kicks and contribute to an honorable cause.

Iman Shumpert is a huge reason why the Knicks not only bounced back in the second round series to take Game 2, but also why the Knicks advanced in the first place. During last night’s second game against the Pacers, Iman Shumpert played one of the best all-around games of the season while wearing an interesting pair of shoes – a “Knicks” custom of the adidas Real Deal cooked up by Packer Shoes and executed by Sole Swap (peep the logo on the heel and Iman’s personal logo on ankle). Shumpert also wore another Sole Swap custom a few games back as well – will this partnership between Knicks guard and Sole Swap be something that will flourish throughout the Playoffs? Check out the photos of Iman in the game as well as some exclusive photos (and a video of his vicious put-back dunk) and let us know what you think.

Packer Shoes looks to be deepening their legacy with Reebok with an upcoming Reebok Kamikaze II release. The pair appears to be a tribute to the 1996 NBA All Star jerseys, with the Vector logo re-worked to include the colors and the chili pepper from that classic uni. Also hinting at that connection are the “1996″ hit at the end of the lace placket and Packer’s “Remember the Alamo” accompanying text. Let us know if you’re excited for the Packer Shoes x Reebok Kamikaze II “All Star” and be sure to check back in with Sneaker News for up to date info on this intriguing collab.

Since its introduction in 1897, the Boston Marathon was an event that celebrated the incredible accomplishments of thousands of runners who tested not only their physical capabilities, but also the human “will” to run an unthinkable 26.2 mile stretch of road. During this annual event, friends and family gather to support their loved ones who gallantly pound the pavement for hours, embracing the finish line with an unstoppable rush of pride that is typically accompanied by super-human feats. This Monday’s Boston Marathon running, as we all know, was marred by a despicable act of inhuman terrorism – three dead, and hundreds injured as a result of an unthinkable act that rocked the nation. After events like these, we’re left confused and desperate for answers while appreciating the value of human life, but the human spirit kicks in and the desire to lend a hand victoriously rises – that’s been the American way for centuries.
Here’s one way to help: Packer Shoes in New Jersey is donating all the proceeds from the sales of the New Balance “Boston Marathon” Pack directly to the Boys and Girls Club in Dorchester, MA, located in the hometown of eight-year-old victim Martin Richard who died Monday while waiting for his father to cross the finish line. Every single penny from the sale of both the mens and women’s New Balance 890BOS and 990BOS between April 18th and the 22nd will be paid forward to assist an area shaken by tragedy. Read Packer Shoes’ words below and do your part to contribute by purchasing one of the pairs at Packer Shoes tomorrow beginning at 3pm EST.

Packer Shoes‘ long history with Reebok will carry on tomorrow with the release of their “Aztec” flavored Reebok Classic Leather. For those of you who aren’t too well versed in the more obscure back catalog of Vector Brand runners, the Aztec was sort of a cult-favorite model that Mike Packer and his team chose to pay tribute to with this slick release. The shoe features a supple pigskin suede on the uppers with sections of mesh, cracked leather and several vintage-style OG Reebok nods in the branding and the tongue/lining materials. Stay with us after the jump to get a full look at the Packer Shoes x Reebok Classic Leather “Aztec” and watch for them to release tomorrow at spots including SNS.
