The Vans team is back in bed with Diemme, a collaboration which will once again result in the fanciest of leather hitting on some of your favorite Off the Wall skate silhouettes. The Vans Sk8-Hi and the Vans Slip-On are the models selected, both of which let the leather shine with simple black and navy set ups. It’s also worth noting that the models have been rebranded thanks to the Diemme partnership, getting called the Vans Montebelluna Hi LX and the Vans Montebelluna Lo LX here. Vans is the global skate leader and does almost everything at a high level, but they might have missed an opportunity to release this collaboration about a year ago. You see, that’s when young Elijah Berle was named 2011 ‘Year’s Best Am’ by The Skateboard Mag, an honor that would have served as a natural springboard into this new Elijah Berle x Vans Sk8-Hi teamup. Berle is noted as saying Jeff Grosso is his favorite skater ever, so it’s fitting that this model and colorway both resemble Grosso’s first Off the Wall pack from two springs ago. Metallica issued a Kill ‘Em All collaboration as part of the Half Cab 20th Anniversary celebration, then each of the band members got their own signature releases from Vans last month. Five collabos in four months is a nice spread, but seven in five feels more complete when the new drop in question completes the pairs we’ve seen previewed. It’s back to the legendary 1983 album for the Metallica x Vans Sk8-Hi ‘Kill Em All’, a black suede-toed design whose sides are adorned with album art celebrating its 30th birthday. As one Vans collaboration is released today (that would be the latest Supreme capsule), another one is announced. This time it’s the Japanese who’ve got something cooking in the form of the NVy by FAT x Beauty & Youth x Vans Sk8-Hi shown here. The three way team up keeps things pretty clean with its two-tone blue set up for the upper, one that is bolstered a bit by some contrastive white stitching. Alien Workshop co-founder Mike Hill completes his Vans Syndicate collaboration by utilizing the main color on his Authentics as the accent shade on this hightop release. The Mike Hill x Vans Syndicate Sk8-Hi Boot ‘S’ can be seen as something of an opposite of those Authentics in terms of height and color distribution, and thanks to this pair’s moc-toe and rugged eyelets. Just a couple weeks after debuting their 2013 collection, Supreme is already prepared to unleash their team up with Vans for this season. The group of sneakers, including the Vans Sk8-Hi, the Vans Chukka, and the Vans Era, picks up the floral ‘Power, Corruption, & Lies’ look that’s been seen elsewhere in the new collection. The floral print is borrowed from the Peter Saville-designed cover art from the New Order album of the same name.
