When the Air Max Classic BW first hit the shelves back in 1991 in the original Black/Persian Violet colorway, they looked like something sent back from the future. With the vibrant color scheme and extra large visible air bubble, the BW was like no Nike shoe ever seen before and quickly became a fan favorite. It might not look so revolutionary nowadays, but this sneaker is still very near and dear to a lot of collectors’ hearts. Many alternate colorways have been released over the years, but none ever looked quite as fresh as the Persian Violets. This black/red/white sample come pretty close though, sticking to the original color scheme, but simply swapping out the violet for red. These are only a sample, but will hopefully be available some time in 2009.
