Nike often refers to pop culture in its limited edition releases, but this one honours the 40th anniversary of one of the most inspirational achievements in the entire history of mankind. Whether they’re a ’small step for mankind’ is more dependent upon your own stride, but there’s no question that this new pair of Nike Air Max 1s does a nifty job of achieving its lunar landing theme. The upper is comprised of mostly black leather with touches of quilted black nylon and metallic silver accents. A strip of the upper directly above the midsole is embossed with a crater-like pattern and a moon boot-evoking silver midsole completes the vibe. From Nike’s catalog, this belong to the Apollo-Lunar Pack. A total of 3 colorways for men, this one (May release), a second one in metallic silver/wht-blck (May release), and a third one in white/volt-metallic silver (April release). Two colorways for the ladies – one in white/metallic silver-lemon cheffon (April release), and the other in metallic silver/mint-wht (May release).
