As we were once told many years ago by the legendary Bo Jackson ad campaign, it appears that there isn’t much that Bo doesn’t know. Nike has recently been paying tribute to Bo left and right with his inclusion in the recent Trainer 1 mania, as well as the upcoming release of the OG Air Trainer SC, the updated Trainer SC 2010 and the Tecmo Bo Los Angeles Raiders edition of the Air Trainer II. Now that football and training have been covered, Nike is paying tribute to the superhuman Bo Jackson’s days as a baseball player for the Kansas City Royals.
This Bo-inspired Blazer High features a light blue/royal blue Royals color scheme with a mesh tongue and a solid blue midsole. The most noteworthy attributes, however, have to be the baseball Tecmo Bo character on the tongue label and the pixelated graphics that appear across the side of the upper. If you are looking at these right now and losing your mind, please note that these kicks are expected to follow the Raiders Trainer II and will hit select retailers some time this fall. Nike is doing such a great job with these retros and joints drawing inspiration from their old campaigns. My only concern is, with them covering almost all of the good stuff, is there going to be anything left in say, a year or two?
Then again, maybe I’m just an old man and I’ve missed out on the kinds of things young sneakerheads will be nostalgic about 10-20 years from now
