2009’s Hypermax Tennis Ball Pack was such a great success that Nike Basketball utilized a similar color scheme theme on the Air Max Hyperize a year later.  That trio was dubbed the Highlighter Pack, a name that lived up to its fluorescent inspiration when it was used to introduce the Hyperdunk 2010.  So this idea has been around for a few years now but it had previously only been applied to modern performance-oriented kicks, so we’re quite happy to see the theme carry over into the vast catalog of Swoosh retro sneakers.  Now Nike Sportswear has taken the torch (or pen, as it were) and applied the neon shades to classics like the Blazer High, Air Penny 1 and now the Nike Air Max Uptempo 97.  The AM Uptempo 97 ‘Highlighter’ is done Air Attack Pack-style with a tonal black base featuring a dimpled material on much of the upper plus bright pink accents, yet these are intended for wider consumption and aren’t limited to a WMNS size run.  Click through to see more shots, let us know if you can see yourself wearing a black/pink basketball shoe and pick yours up a bit earlier than everyone else by grabbing a pair from Osneaker.
