The Nike Air Max 97 is a model best known for its OG Silver Bullet colorway but despite this shiny default it has used less patent leather than any of the Nike Sportswear Air Max retro running series. Perhaps this is because its sweeping design lends itself more naturally to synthetics and this new release features its fair share of mesh on the upper tiers but utilizes the mudguard layer for a glossy black base. It’s a nice contrast compared to the otherwise white and silver design and could look great with a carefully selected pair of brightly colored laces.
