When you first gaze upon the Air Jordan Phase 23 Hoops midtop, you see some familiar design elements. These joints feature a streaky graphic on their rear a la Air Jordan VIII but the eyelet wing itself where you find this splash of color is closer to the AJ7. Move forward to the side panels to see moire-style perforations like the Air Jordan 2010 Team and if you keep going you get the forefoot strap most recently seen on the Jordan BCT. So how, then, does the Phase 23 Hoops have all these characteristics and yet totally avoid looking like a hybrid? Chalk it up to design magic, and a trio of solid colorways certainly doesn’t hurt, each of these three set to drop soon at select Jordan Brand retailers as part of the May 2011 footwear collection.

Just over a year ago, Jeremy Scott released two new pairs of the original JS Wings silhouette that featured a wide range of color design. One was a super simple white look with gold accents, the other a molten rainbow of a special lenticular material. And like the latter of that group, this new adidas Originals Stan Smith 80s Mid covers the spectrum with a CMYK colorway that’s going to garner quite a bit of attention irrespective of whatever else you’re wearing. So do you have what it takes to pull off one of the wildest sneakers we’ve seen in 2011? Click through to see more and then grab yours from select Three Stripes retailers like Schuh-You.

Sneaker News Weekly Rewind starts off with a plethora of Air Jordan news, highlighted by a rare game-worn PE of the Air Jordan 1 featuring a unique alteration to protect Michael’s recently healed foot, and a look at a new Team Jordan design inspired by a late-90′s classic. Sneaker News also brought you a look at a proposed LeBron 8 V4 dubbed ‘Milan’ – a high-end luxurious version of the Nike LeBron 8. Speaking of high-end shoes, we brought you a nice look at upcoming Stefan Janoski releases (the ‘dress’ skate shoe). Other Nike SB news included the upcoming May 2011 product line and a look at some unreleased samples from years before. Staying on the lifestyle side of things, the Nike Air Force 1 made yet another return to Nike iD, bringing along a new customizable option that made another pair very ‘worth it’.
The Foamposite push in 2011 continues with the ‘Retro/Black’ colorway (an electric teal blue), which is set for a Fall 2011 release. We also got a look at two awesome Nike Zoom KD III iD creations inspired by the LeBron 8 V/2 ‘Entourage’ and the Air Force 1 Low ‘Year of the Rabbit’. Amare Stoudemire finally unveiled a new PE colorway of the Zoom Huarache TR Mid last Sunday (as shown in our extensive NBA Feet coverage), and we followed that up with a look at a sick trio of colorways that’ll have Trainer fans drooling with envy. Speaking of the Knicks, Nike Sportswear is bringing back a special duo of the Nike Sky Force ’88 which we dubbed the ‘Bulls vs. Knicks’ Pack. The Nike Air Yeezy 2 was once again a hot topic of conversation, as we got better angles of the kicks on Kanye’s feet. Phil Knight, co-founder of Nike, was a special guest on Oprah, during which the legendary talk-show host was presented with a special Nike PE. And finally, Sneaker News turns the final page of Michael Jordan Through The Years, focusing on the man and not the shoes. There’s a ton more to see so count on Sneaker News Weekly Rewind to get you into top form in the world of sneakers!

One of the highlights of the Jordan Brand Fall 2011 Collection is this Air Jordan V Retro featuring a White patent leather upper that was seen on the ’09 Dark Army release. Many of our readers have likened this colorway to the Olympics for its patriotic color-combination of red, white, and blue, a comparison that was well received (the shoes ARE releasing in the month of our nation’s birth). The patent leather upper as well has been an interesting topic of debate, but we’ll see how much of an issue that really is once these drop. Of course, there’s no need to wait, because these are available well in advance from air-randy on eBay.

First Silver, then Black, and now White. What colorway of the Air Force 1 High Foamposite could be next? Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, because tomorrow will be the official release date of the third Foamposite x Air Force 1- the angelic tonal white colorway part of the Nike Sportswear True Colors ‘White’ Pack. The matte finish of Foamposite gives the white upper a smooth, milky visual appeal, and the blue-tinted translucent outsole adds an icy touch of ‘cool’ to balance out the decadence of the creamy white upper. Think of it as a luxurious take on the classic all-white Air Force 1 High, and if you’ve already made your mind up about these, look out for these at select Nike Sportswear retailers tomorrow (with a great detailed gallery via HB), or pick up a pair now on eBay.
