Nike Zoom Flight ’98 ‘The Glove’ – Returning October 2012

Exemplifying Gary Payton’s bravado and lock-down defense on the court, Nike Basketball created ‘The Glove’, aka the Nike Zoom Flight ’98. Undoubtedly one of the most advanced sneakers of its time, ‘The Glove’ featured the unique ‘Monkey Paw’ stability cage and an upper shroud that was released via the off-center zipper. During a recent autograph signing, Gary Payton himself recalled the Zoom Flight ’98 as his favorite signature shoe, and even noted that Nike will re-release the shoe in October of 2012. Even last year, Payton was spotted wearing the Zoom Flight ’98 overseas, although the nature of the shoe (OG or a Retro sample) wasn’t confirmed. Excited? Just going on Nike's marketing schemes/gimmicks, they will more than likely release a different version than the OGs. Just like GP sez, "you know how Nike is.."

had a pair of these back in high school, although i wouldnt say they were exactly very durable (the zipper part broke after 3 hrs of balling), im giving them another chance for sure!! i just hope they are not gonna be retailed @ $130+...

C'mon sneakernews this is just a rumor!!! It is far from confirmed. A reputable source asked Nike and they said that if true it would be further out than October 2012. I am pretty disappointed that sneakernews has been jumping the gun with alot of info lately. These and the Orlando Zoom Rookies are just naming a couple.
