Exemplifying Gary Payton’s bravado and lock-down defense on the court, Nike Basketball created ‘The Glove’, aka the Nike Zoom Flight ’98. Undoubtedly one of the most advanced sneakers of its time, ‘The Glove’ featured the unique ‘Monkey Paw’ stability cage and an upper shroud that was released via the off-center zipper. During a recent autograph signing, Gary Payton himself recalled the Zoom Flight ’98 as his favorite signature shoe, and even noted that Nike will re-release the shoe in October of 2012. Even last year, Payton was spotted wearing the Zoom Flight ’98 overseas, although the nature of the shoe (OG or a Retro sample) wasn’t confirmed. Excited?
