Nike All Conditions Gear footwear is engineered to keep your foot protected from the outdoor elements without compromising the supreme comfort and performance offered by every other Nike wing. With that said, one of Nike’s more memorable cult hits comes from Nike ACG in the form of the ‘Dri-Goat’, which first debuted during the Holiday 2000 season; it got its name for its unique traction designed after a goat’s hoof (read up on mountain goats and their ability to climb and you’ll see what that animal was chosen). Some added mystique around the Nike ACG Dri-Goat was that an advertisement showcasing the shoe was actually pulled by Nike as it was deemed to be offensive to the disabled. The Dri-Goat series didn’t last too long, but did leave us with some classic gems that were similar to the Dri-Goat like the Air Crested Butte and the Dri-Goat Alpha Gore-Tex.

Here’s a look at an interesting Nike ACG shoe, created in 2001, which features a rugged trail-ready outsole, a zipper enclosure that covers the forefoot, and a tag on the tongue that says ‘Nike Foamposite’. Foamposite, the lightweight material made popular by the Air Foamposite One, is likely used to provide the upper construction of the shoe, with a special weather-resistant shell layered above it. This funky sample does seem to fall in line with the Nike Dri-Goat lineage (and was released not long after the original Dri-Goat debuted), and was likely targeted at outdoor-gear aficionados. Continue reading for another look after the jump and let us know what you think of this funky sample, and check out the auction from identitiesrevealed on eBay.

These were created before some of you were born......styling comes from the same era of the original foamposite one........zipper helps waterproof the shoe and eliminate laces getting stepped on for function/hiking. There is some classic lines and look in this that could be appreciated ..........not saying they are visually mindblowing, but I would be interested in getting them on.

I would guess since it's an ACG it's for water protection. Even though it has that mesh near the toes...
