Nike Lunar Safari – Officially Unveiled
February 21st, 2012 by John K. | 8 comments

The crown jewel of Nike Running’s output in 1987 will always be recognized as the Air Max 1, but Tinker Hatfield places just as much pride in another running shoe of that year – the Air Safari. The running/lifestyle sneaker celebrates its 25th year in 2012, with a year’s worth of releases like the ‘Suede Pack’ slated to be the primary method of celebration for this shoe, and today, Nike Sportswear officially unveiled the Nike Lunar Safari as part of the Nike Fast Unleashed Collection. Combining the familiar Safari silhouette with a redesigned Lunar outsole, the Lunar Safari arrives once more in a completely revamped package fitting of contemporary standards of performance running and street-sensibility. We’ve got a look at three upcoming colorways of the Nike Lunar Safari after the jump so take a look at the detailed gallery and let us know where the Air Safari ranks among your all-time faves.

What's that bottom pair on the left? It looks like the og orange just a bit, but with a light gray safari print. I think I may actually prefer that.. If I'm not mistaken, the original safari was a bit more of a lighter grey than the 2003 retro
moar pics please
They both look great but not a big fan of the colored soles they should be white...
White soles:( umm no!
When do these drop?
Would not mind seeing an updated Air Safari similar to the Air Max 1 or Air Max 90 with today's technologies such as flywire, free technology and hyperfuse.
Damn these are nice! I wear Lunars to work cause they are so comfortable, so these are a must!
wow, i'm really digging the grey/blue ones. these must be real comfy seeing how they combined lunar with the free tech. i love seeing the classics with new tech pulled off correctly, well done
