We hesitate to call them true sneakerheads, but there were indeed some dudes who got so excited about the Air Jordan XI Retro ‘Space Jam’ release a couple years back that they mangled a couple of storefronts where the coveted kicks were kept. Here’s hoping Paul Rodriguez’ Primitive doesn’t suffer a similar fate to one of its two locations upon the release of this collaboration with Gourmet, a drop that’s both an homage to His Airness and a nod to the origins of the now well-established lifestyle brand. The Primitive x Gourmet Quadici ‘Space Jam’ comes with a black patent leather mudguard that, while not exactly practical in the kind of conditions where duck boots traditionally prove useful, most definitely signals that it’s inspired by 2009’s biggest hit not named ‘Air Yeezy’. Check these out after the jump, let us know what you think of this ‘Space Jam’-imitating release over two years after the XIs dropped in that style (remember all the other similar looks in late ’09/early ’10?) and grab yours straight from Primitive.
