Air Jordan IX “Olive” 2012
June 5th, 2012 by Aaron Hope | 62 comments

We’ve become accustomed to Christmastime Air Jordan XI Retro releases, and while Jordan Brand has no plans to change that anytime soon (‘Bred’ and ’Columbia’ on tap for 2012), they have indeed flipped the script in one sense. Switch around the roman numerals and add the Air Jordan IX to your holiday shopping list, pictured above in the OG ‘Olive’ colorway that debuted during MJ’s first season with the Birmingham Barons. The rare use of such an earthy color in an otherwise bred palette confused some back in the day, but today’s lifestyle market will gobble up this versatile take on the intense Chicago-style look. Check them out after the jump pictured with a bunch of other upcoming heat and let us know if the ‘Olive’ Air Jordan 9s will be yours come Q4. Photos: wizdomlakers on NT

The fact tht nike can't keep the js the way the should be , like wtf why change the midsole on the VI's I have an og pair and they look way better , and the olives, why the gloss ? Makes them look like a fake pair , but I guess hypebeats just HAVE to have wat they THINK is heat and make these shoes look like they big sh** when they really not -_-
wtf is up with those 7's, there aint no gold jumpman on the sides
I copped the olive for $49.99 back in 03 rocked em till i out grew them and sold'em for $225 two years. Ago I hope they hit the clearance rack again so I can get an extra pair.
Most likely my last J if I even consider but I need those taxi 12's though
But those aren't taxi's
Must haves.
They all look clean
Im going to get the Olives bc I didn't get them back in 2002 when I was 13, But that glossy midsole takes away from the OG look.
loving that glossy midsole
Thats one beautiful picture, like watching your kids growing up
But them 6's though....
Camping Now
The olive 9 was sitting on shelves when it first drop, it was actually a wak cw, now ur dad wants them
Da 6s & 9s.... hot shiiiiit fa da summer & winter
I wish the olive midsole wasn't glossy. I prefer the way my og's are a flat black finish. I don't know why Nike is using this glossy paint that just cracks after you wear the shoe a few times. Still gonna cop though since my og's are 4 sizes too small now.
take all that gloss off the 9s and i'm sold
I kinda like the midsole....
9s are garbage. Worst of all j's. However, with all the beasts out there now, they'll be gobbled up. Those went on clearance last time they were released, but just like those grey 12s should have been on clearance as well yet sold out, I'm sure these will too. Sad times.
All i read from that was colombias and breds are dropping...Is the true?
materials look kinda weird, also a lot lighter than the 2002s
9's are the most wanted cop for me outta this bunch
I had the OG's and I can't wait to get these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That midsole is too glossy they should do something about that
I'm still gonna get Olives bc I didn't get them back in 2002 when I was 13 but why must JB F up a classic with that glossy paint? Just keep it OG
i try my best to get the olives!
ugliest shoe ever...what is wrong with you people
quite a shiny midsole
woops wrong post nvm LOL
sickness ya'll gotta do the entourages at some point
I CAN GET THEM ALL FOR ABOUT $700 BUCKS. COPPED.
Olympic VIs all day! Was kind of hoping they'd be as popular as say, the cool grey XIIs... so I'd actually get a chance to buy at retail. Looks like i'm fresh out of luck though!
10 years ago these were on the sale rack for $50. $50 says they sell out day one.
i don't know about 50 bucks, but i bought the OGs on clearance sale at footlocker. yes. clearance sale. wore them as my winter shoes and dogged the hell out of them.
Don't know where you live, but in Jersey they sold out first day!
i only clicked for the Olympic VIs
Hahahaha me too.
Those Olympics look NICE. The Olive 9´s though...
yea there a joke if they end up looking like that nopee and i was looking forward to them to smh.
SICK PUPPIES
the 6s look better with the blue tint imo

The last retro of the Olives had a glossy midsole.
im in the tree line lurking....looking and waiting for kilroy!!!!!!
Come on man, that gloss is the S***.
I agree, whats up with nike and making everything look glossy....
cool
Olympic VIs looking good.... but they can keep the Bred XIs this year, just give me the Olives!!
