Yankees Nike Lebron V March 2008 Release

NIKE LEBRON WEEK

By now you might’ve noticed that we went from LeBron 1 to LeBron V for our week-long Classics Revisited on the Nike LeBron. One of the more under-appreciated signature models is indeed the V, the tech-boosted high-performance model that released in October of 2007. In March of 2008, Nike Basketball released a limited-edition run of the LeBron V ‘Yankees’, celebrating the Yankees new season at a special release at the House of Hoops (you know, back when HoH had exclusive releases). It features the Bronx Bombers’ signature pinstripe detailing on the upper with a crisp white/navy colorway and a baseball-diamond logo on the tongue. LeBron considers the Yankees his favorite baseball team, stirring up some inadvertent controversy in 2007 when he wore a Yankees baseball cap during a Yankees/Indians game – in Cleveland. That Yankees allegiance was later thought to be an indication that LeBron would select the New York Knicks as his new employers, but we know that didn’t unfold that way! Just 86 pairs of the LeBron V ‘Yankees’ was released and is one of the most limited-edition released LeBrons to date.
