For most of its retro treatment in 2012 the New Balance 996 has been a strictly suede and mesh affair, with pairs released keeping things pretty close to that OG treatment. Perhaps hinting at a new direction for the new year is this pair that’s just released, which goes with a bit of leather for the navy panel wrapping around the middle section of the sneaker. Beyond that the sneaker gets a few quick bits of red injected into a base that looks very much like the original silvery suede look. Click through to check out this made in USA New Balance pair and them up from spots like Feature Sneaker Boutique in Las Vegas.
